Many inspiring emcees would think that buying rap beats online is crazy. The two main reasons that I have heard are how many people have used that beat? And, is it even safe to buy beats online? Well, those two reasons are why a lot of rappers are being left in the dust while other rappers are getting paid out here. How many people have that beat?

If you have to ask yourself how many people have bought a rap beat that you are considering, than not as many people as you think has bought that beat. Why do I say that? Because if a lot of people have bought that beat, than you would have heard a lot of other rappers using that beat to know that it has been bought a lot of times. There are over 100,000,000 people on MySpace and think about how hard it is for a rapper to sell a million records. So it is not as many people with that beat as you really think it is. Plus if you are a rapper you would know that most rappers who get beats just sit on them anyway. Either that or they just use them for show to their family and the beat never makes it outside their front door. I'm sure you got other friends who claim they want to be an emcee just like you, but you just don't see that hustle in them that you feel that you have. This is because most of inspiring rappers are saying that they want to be rappers, but they are not really even trying. 90% of inspiring rappers are more talk then walk; it's just a known fact.

A lot of rappers don't want to use beats from online cause they think a lot of other rappers are using the beat that they want, but then will turn around and use a commercially known beat that millions of inspiring rappers are using. Using a beat that is not commercially televised and radio played is better than a beat that is already established and known to the world. Beats that rappers like Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, and the rest of the big cats have used is usually not a good idea for somebody who is not big time yet to use. It's cool to use commercially known beats but those are not the only beats that you would want to use. The reason why is because most of the audience to hip hop will not give anybody else a chance to their favorite rappers beat no matter how good you are. They already have their mind made up to how the song goes and the case is closed usually after that, unless you're another famous rapper. Now if you have a beat that is not established, you have a better chance of somebody digging your flow 10 times more. Why, because you have the chance for your audience to have your hook stuck in their head and not Young Jeezy or Jay-Z!

Is Buying Beat Online Safe?

Buying beats online is safe with a lot of the beat sites online. A great way to start looking to see if it's a safe site is to see if it is atleast verified with PayPal. PayPal is one of the safest businesses to do online transactions with using credit/debit cards. But buying beats online is still just like buying anything else online; you still have to be careful. Another way to see if a beat site is safe is to contact the site. Contact info is important because if need to contact them about a beat that you bought you want to be able to contact someone. Most beat sites will only have an email system for you to communicate with them. But if they have a number on their website, than that's even better. Contact them and see if they answer your email or phone call. If they do not, then it's probably not a good idea to be doing business with them. Also see if they have some type of comment system or chat box to see if there has been any activity on the site.

If your beats suck then taking a chance online can't be that bad!

If you are taking your career seriously then you just don't want any type of beats. If you can't make tight beats and you don't know anyone else that can, then you need to get your beats from somewhere. Cause as stated before, the beats is usually what most hip hop listeners of today listen to first. A lot of you all are probably getting your beats from your hommie because he is trying to be a producer. It's great that you want to stick with your home boi like that, especially if he is a good producer. But if he sucks, then you also have to remember that this is business. And it's a reason why they say that sometimes you shouldn't mix business with family and friends. You know if your home boi beats are tight or not and if their slowing you down. So if you need some better beats, don't let him hold you back. Plus if he was a real friend he would understand why you might be shopping with other people or online looking around.
