Nothing is impossible. Especially in China. Of cause, officially you cannot literally buy a driver’s license in China. But under special circumstances like donations to the right government officials in some rural places or after buying an expensive car a driving license might pop up for you. Even on the web you can find offers to buy one. You have to keep in mind however that China has very strong campaigns against corruption, so do not expect things to work out. This is highly illegal. Most importantly the driver’s license you will get -  though not a fake document - is void. That means if found out it is the same as driving a car without license and without insurance.

Please stay away from those “offers”. You will need a Chinese driver’s license to drive a car in China as foreign and international licenses are not accepted by the government. It is however not that difficult to legally get a driver’s license. So stay away from dubious offers.

Steps to legally get a driver’s license:

·         Learn the multiple choice questions which are available in advance

·         Register for a test.

·         Do a simple medical examination.

·         Do the test.

·         Pay a fee.

No practical test is necessary if you have a foreign or international driver’s license. Only the theory exam has to be done. This can all be accomplished within one day.

If you do not want to go through endless questions lists again and again and still be not sure if you know enough, check out the Chinese Driving License Trainer which includes all questions and answers at http://www.howchinaworks.com/shop/software/chinese-driving-license-trainer/prod_5.html. It will get you ready as fast as possible by using an spaced repetition systems which asks you all the questions you make mistakes on more often than others.
