Buzz Lightyear Toy

Just about everyone can universally agree that Toy Story and the sequel Toy Story Two are one of the beest animated films of all times. In this wonderfully creative film viewers are taken into the hidden world of toys. These toys belong to a little boy named Andy in the story and when Andy is not around the come to life. The two main characters in the movie are Woody the great looking western cowboy doll and Buzz Lightyear the super space ranger doll. The two start out an enemies but become fast friends by the end of the movie. During the production and release of this film pixar and Disney studios did an extensive marketing campaing where the characters like Buzz Lightyear and Woody were sold as realy dools in toy stores. In fact you can eaisly find a wide vareity of Buzz Lightyear toys still today.

THe first Buzz Lightyear figures were produced in China. After the movie was realeased demand for the figures quikly outpaced the production. Buzz was orginally made as a plastic astronaut and colored mainly white with some green and blue stripes. The inspiration behind the character of Buzz Lightyear was actually came from the Apollo atronaut Buzz Aldrin. Buzz was such an instant success that he qickly became the basis for a wide vareity of toys that featured his mug shot. Including video games, lunch boxes, wallpaper and so on. In fact Buzz Lightyear even got an animated TV Series dedicated to just him where he played the main role.

The classic action figure incorporates Buzz's mission backpack, which fires a projectile. The wings on the backpack are attachable and can be fitted onto his arms to act as a defensive shield. Other ranges of Buzz Lightyear toy include the Star Command Cruiser playset, which includes various spacecraft and weaponry. The Action Squad set includes a Buzz action figure, an alien figure, space capsule, squad car, backpack, satellite and generator.

Scenes from the films are depicted in the various toys and children can have a lot of fun with role play. The Fire Fighting Red Leader has a backpack with a nitro foam blaster that shoots a nitro foam ball. The Space Defender Blue Leader has a super plasma deflector shield.

Buzz needs to move around and several different modes of transport help him. The Intergalactic Highway Patrol set includes a motorbike and sidecar and there is also a three in one Space Cruiser. The radio control car Buzz Lightyear toy has figures for both Buzz and Woody and is controlled by a remote handset. More role play is achieved with the Glider Pack, Toy Story Walkie Talkies and Galactic Guns.

It's also possible to dress up as Buzz in the one piece costume with detachable wings, mask, eye visor and boots. The costume is designed to fit three to five year olds. Young children can cuddle up to a Buzz Lightyear Bean Toy.

There is rumor that in 2010 a new Toy Story fill will be released. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will continue to do the voices of Buzz Lightyear and Woody. This should be a wonderful animated film and will introduce a whole new generation of children to the joys of the and delights of a Buzz Lightyear toy.
