From a mortician's point of view, they are big and cumbersome to move around, but people with a scintillatingly morbid sense of humor are finding caskets to be fascinating decorative pieces and unique conversation starters. It's not just creepy goth people that enjoy this sort of underworld humor, either. Normal folks like you and I have the capacity to enjoy the macabre things in life..... but then again, I'm probably not that normal!

Coffin-Inspired Roadsters

Usually reserved for parades and kooky rallies, these humorous vehicles are powered by the brighter side of death. What can be more fun than riding around in a casket? It's the ultimate way to give death the finger and enjoy life to the fullest!

Casket Furniture

Funerary furnishings make for a cozy home; just ask one of the many people that use caskets for furniture! From couches to coffee tables, these items are sure to inspire delightful small talk.

I have seen many casket couches, but none are as stylish as the ones found at http://www.coffincouches.com/ (I especially like the pink one!) I have heard of elderly folks with a fantastic sense of humor that purchase their caskets in advance and turn them into temporary coffee tables. But this one with a window displaying the skeleton inside takes the cake!

The coffin shapped pool table is a neat idea too! (Note: a "coffin" has 6 sides, also known as a "toe pincher")

Casket Keepsakes

Caskets are great inspiration for many gift ideas, from cigar holders to jewelry boxes. My absolute favorite is the wine casket! Besides a humorous wine storage container, the miniature casket can be used to bury a very small beloved pet.

I have purchased some for myself and loved ones, and they are a huge hit! I even gave one to Ami James (star of TLC's hit show Miami Ink) after he was done with my tattoo. If you watch Miami Ink this year, you might even see it. Ami said that it was so cool that he was gonna take it home instead of leaving it in the shop. It was sort of weird flying to Miami with a miniature casket, but the added security check was well worth it.

The wine caskets are the color of mahogany and are made of wood with a soft beige velvet interior. The outer measurements are 14" x 6 1/8" x 6 3/4" and the inside measurements are 12" x 4" x 3".

Whether given as a gift or used as a unique potpourri holder, this little casket is sure to start some interesting conversations!

Thats great, I too like to give death the finger. I just got done with the flammes on the one we have. I don't know if you remmber but I'm making BBQ grill out of one side and a cooler out of the other. Emmabalmer, there are 101 uses for a good casket. I'm glad you are out there to spread the word. Keep up the work!!!!
