CELINA JAITLEY-PROFILE OF A FORMER MISS INDIA-UNIVERSE

 CELINA JAITLEY was born on June 9th, 1981 in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Her dad was an officer in the Indian Army and her mom, Meeta, was an Afghan model and an ex-beauty queen. Celina, who is half Indian and half Afghani, grew up to become a beautiful women like her mother. She participated in several local beauty pageants before she was crowned Miss India in 2001.

The moment she won the crown, Celina became an overnight celebrity and attracted the attention of the 'Who's Who' in Bollywood. Two years later, she made her Bollywood debut with 'Khel.'  Even though she had a three film deal with Feroz Khan who launched her opposite his son FARDEEN KHAN in JANASHEEN .But the film was soo long in the making that Khel  ended up neing her debut film.

Over the years, she has acted in several movies such as Silsilay, Kaash Tumse Mohabbat Na Hoti, Shaka Laka Boom Boom and Dulha Mil Gaya, Money hai Toh Honey Hai, Kkk Kompany, No Entry & Red. She has also danced to the tunes of the Bombay Vikings in a music video of 'Zara Nazron Se Kehdo'. In 2007, Celina flew to New Zealand and shot her first international movie, 'The Quest of Sheherzade,' a romantic comedy.  CELINA JAITLEY has made inroads into the Southern Film Industry as well as she created quite a sensation by signing her maiden film 'Shreemati' opposite the Kannad superstar-Upendra. The bilingual is also to be shot in Telegu and is believed to be a remake of the Akshay-Kareena-Priyanka Aitraaz!!

Movies and modeling were not her dream. She had long wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father and be a part of the defence service as a pilot and like her brother an Indian Army Officer. But destiny willed otherwise, and here she is, making big waves in Bollywood. Celina has also won the Miss Margo Beautiful Skin, MTV's Most Wanted, and Indiatimes Surfer's Choice awards.
