A quick, easy, delicious salad treat for family reunions.

I am giving some church recipe favorites which some of my parishioners have given over the years.  This Chaw Me Jell-O Salad is an excellent example for homecoming, church socials or family reunions. 


Southern Lime Green Jello Salad

Strawberry cream cheese pretzel salad

Blueberry Jello "Salad"

How to make - CHAW ME JELL-O SALAD

Ingredients;

  • 1 pkg. lemon Jell-O
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 C. hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. grated onion
  • 2/3 c. grated carrots
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped green peppers

Directions:

Dissolve Jell-O and salt in hot water. Add vinegar, grated onion and pepper. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in carrots and green peppers. Turn into individual molds or large mold. Chill until firm. Unmold on salad greens. Garnish with spoonfuls of cottage cheese sprinkled with paprika and shredded carrots.  (recipe prepared by Virginia Calfee Smith )
