As video network traffic and mobile internet is growing very fastly day by day, this made World Networking Leader CISCO to develop Gigabit ethernet cards. Cisco is planning for new Ethernet interface cards that will process more than 100 Gigabits per second in its new series of ASR 9000 edge routers.Already the big rivals of CISCO,Juniperand Alcatel-lucent revealed their plans for 100Gb cards. I think enterprises will need this type of cards for their growing demands of network bandwidth. Cisco is planning to put 16 this type of cards to a router family that is developed to scale upto 400Gbps.The routers with these cards will hit the market later in this year. As video services like video on demand, Internet video, video including TV, peer-to-peer video demanding high bandwidth these type of cards are surely necessary for enterprises.
