Charitable Giving with Clicks
In today's poor economy, it's harder than ever to give to charitable organizations. There is a way to contribute without spending any money if we'll only make it an everyday practice to do it. It's called Click to Give. There are a number of websites that with one click you can help fund many good deeds.
The Hunger Site's sponsors donate food to hungry people around the world with your one click. One click may give only a cup of food but it adds up quickly if enough people click. The year 2008 had enough clicks to donate 66,235,889 pounds of food to hungry people. There were an additional 5,845,025 pounds of food donated by people who purchased something through their store. http://www.thehungersite.com is where you'll be able to donate daily.
The Breast Cancer Site's sponsors pay for mammograms for women who can't afford it otherwise. Started in 2000, the sponsors have funded free mammograms for over sixteen thousand women from clicks and store purchases. The results for 2008 were down from 2007 and that's a shame. It is the only site that has experienced a decrease for the ones mentioned here. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com is another site worth clicking on daily.
The Animal Rescue Site's sponsors provide food and care for helpless animals. In 2008 77,890,814 bowls of food were given free to animals in need. These, too, came from your clicks and purchases through the store. http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com
The Rainforest Site's sponsors seek to preserve and protect the rainforest and its inhabitants, including plants and animals. One click or store purchase protects a few square feet of the forest. But those square feet added up to 65,154,927 in 2008. http://www.therainforest.com
There's a Literacy Site where the sponsors give a free book to a child with your clicks. In 2008 489,367 books were distributed through clicks alone. Store purchases added another 32,925 books. http://www.theliteracysite.com
The Child Healthcare Site's sponsors provide basic healthcare to children who can't otherwise afford it. These services include vitamin A for disease and blindness prevention, emergency oral rehydration for infants, maternal HIV/AIDS test kits and eye surgery or prosthesis. Again, one click or a store purchase gets the ball rolling. Last year (2008) 989,957 children were helped. http://www.thechildhealthsite.com
The free rice site's sponsors gives ten grains of rice for every correct answer. It's a game the viewer plays and he or she can choose the subject to be tested in. This program is sponsored through the UN World Food Program. It's fun to play and you just might learn something you hadn't known. 2008 provided 43,942,622,700 grains of rice to hungry people. The program also promotes free education for everyone. http://www.freerice.com
Won't you please visit these sites and bookmark them so you'll go back everyday. And one more favor, please tell all your friends, family, email buddies and acquaintances about these sites. With enough determination, we internet users can help irradicate the needs of these suffering people and animals.
It doesn't have to cost you a penny and only a few minutes of your time. We'll all feel better about ourselves if we do this.
