COPD - chronic asthmatic bronchitis - smokers' lungs
COPD - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - is what we
previously called chronic asthmatic bronchitis. It is a chronic
inflammation of the bronchi with persistent irritation of the mucous
membranes of the bronchi - the airways - resulting in the formation of
large amounts of mucus that provides chronic cough. Gradually destroyed
bronchi walls so that the airways become narrowed. Coughing and
inflammation destroys often also small vesicles highly in lung bronchi
where oxygen goes from lung air and into the blood and carbon dioxide
(carbon dioxide) go from the blood and into the lung air and will
exhale. You can read more about the quit smoking pill Chantrix here.
The destruction of the lung bladders leads to lungemfysem, also
called for large lungs. In particular the air flow out of the lungs
that are the trouble, so there is more air in the lungs than normal.
There is usually shortness of breath, breathing pibende type of asthma,
cough and opspyt. Gradually the lungs may also become more rigid
because of the chronic infection.
Appetite is often poor and many COPD sufferers are thin. The great
work of breathing requires a lot of energy - many calories, which also
helps to lose weight. It is therefore important to ensure good
nutrition.
The reason is in 8 out of 10 cases of tobacco smoking,
particularly if you inhale, but otherwise there is no real difference
between what you smoke. Airways becomes transformed into chimneys.
Too much dust, smoke and fumes in the workplace for example may also cause COPD.
If you both smoke and have a job where there is dust and smoke,
the risk is greatest. The example most of the welders who smoke to get
bad lungs from it. Passive smoking and other air pollution, such as
from cars, do not play the major role, but we know that the risk of
asthma and reduced lung function in children is much increased if the
parents or others in the child's proximity smokers. If you are really serious about quitting smoking, I suggest you try quit smoking hypnosis - it really works - Click Here!.
COPD usually develops slowly and most with the disease are over 50
years before it bothers true. Lung function deteriorates only slowly
and then faster, and with time comes the body to lack of oxygen, with
no also because the transition from the lung into the blood has become
more difficult. In younger, there can be a shortage of a particular
enzyme - alpha-1 antitrypsin, mostly hereditary condition.
It follows lung function by means of measurements - in the
hospital or from specialist using a spirometer and at home using a peak
flow device, which can be purchased at the pharmacy. We measure here
the maximum speed that you can breathe air out of. Generally the peak
flow up to at least 450-500, but it is in humans with severe impaired
lung function below 150
Smoking cessation is the most important in the treatment of COPD,
including cessation of passive smoking and exposure to dust, fumes and
the like. Use a quit smoking pill. Additionally, you can test with bronchi expanding medicine,
often as spray - "breathe". It helps, however, often not very much. You can also use slime loosing medicine, but it usually does not help much. It
is important to drink much liquid as slime does not become dry and
tough.
In severe cases of lack of oxygen in the blood, will provide oxygen for at least 15 hours a day.
It will often be useful to examine the slime, so you can find out
what bacteria are, as in severe cases can try to combat them with the
right resources. Antibiotics are usually not necessary and can be
harmful for sufferers resistance. Antibiotics destroy the normal
intestinal flora which is important for the maintenance of the immune
system.
Get antibiotics should therefore urgently arrange to have restored
a healthy intestinal bacterial flora, which eg can be done using
yogurt, capsules with lactic acid bacteria, such as Idoform. or
effective microorganisms from Vita Biosa which can be purchased from health food stores. Micro-Organisms from Vita Biosa
provides many antioxidants, which also strengthens the body's
resistance to disease. You should only give antibiotics when necessary,
which is befall a pneumonia or fever. An alternative is otherwise
eating garlic and olive leaf extract (Olivier or Olivir) that act
antibiotic.
It is impossible to predict how long life with COPD could be. It
depends on many things, especially living will and the will itself to
do what you can, including giving up smoking.
By taking weight you can try to stimulate appetite and strengthen
the affected by providing a grant of vitamins and minerals and all
essential amino acids in the form of protein supplement, eg Protabs R.
Extra vitamin C, vitamin E and other antioxidants can also be an idea.
Dietary supplements Bidro has a smaller study shown to benefit people
with chronic bronchitis, and fish oil, possibly in the capsules may be
a good help, and also against the formation of too much mucus.
