History:

The Bip Castle was constructed in 1795-1797 under the project of architect V.F.Brenna by the order of emperor Paul I. There were remains of old sweden fortification on the place of construction. This place is rather convenient for such kind of buildings.

The Castle was included in the military register of fortresses of the Russian Empire and there was small garrison under command of commandant Arakcheev. The drawbridge was lifted at the sunset and gun fired a shot on midday. After Paul's I death various institutions had accommodation here such as the School for deaf children, Clinic of cavalry regiment, Aleksandrovskij college, Pavlovsk city board. After October 1917 coup d’etat there were orphaned house, military komissariat, sovdep (local council of "peoples" deputies).

During WWII the Bip Castle has burned down, and since then it is standing as romantic ruins on the bank of Slavjanka river. now the castle fenced by the high metallic palisade and there are some building or restoring works runs inside.

Found of COTA

In the last year 2007 we found the COTA-team Germany. At the beginning the idea stood to come on the other side of the Pile Ups without to need a bunch of money. Thus we want to be a platform for portable activities in connection with castles and palaces in Germany. We look for the contact with other amateurradio representatives in Germany, Europe and the world with the same interests. It lies in our interest to promote the portable activities to give new impulses and help working new diplomas concerning castles and palaces. The activation of castles and palaces promotes also the public work of the DARC( German Amateur-Radio Club), we are at the sites and concomitantly interlocuter for the interested public. A Flyer of the DARC containing a brief description of the own local radio club are handed over to interested one, then in many sites the first contact takes place. On the picture are Stefan Dix DL1ATR and Gerhard Kaiser DL5AWI, two of the founders. The next step was to coordinate the european activities. In 2008 it was succeeded that much of national teams worldwide joined a activity weekend on May 17/18th. We hope it will be succesful for a couple of years. Some of this content is puplished at Social Network Friendswin and my Bio-page also.

My daughter is in a study-abroad program in Madrid that ends in early December, and we want to travel together (outside of Spain) for 10 to 14 days after she is done. We would love to visit cities that are beautiful even in the early days of winter, and particularly those that embrace the holiday spirit.
