The California roll is so-named because of the avocado in it. It can also have cucumber, crab, and be decorated with a dusting of flying fish eggs or toasted sesame seeds . This is a very popular starting dish, with good reason - it's yummy! 

 Sushi is great, but like a lot of other foods, it may not be the healthiest. It all depends on the ingredients.  

California rolls generally speaking contain crab meat (imitation or real), cucumber, and avocado. Avocados have fat, but fortunately it's the good kind of fat, (unsaturated). Cucumbers and crab meat are good for you, but don't forget about crabs. Today, people attack crabs, when in truth people should only be careful and use caution. Most sushi is made with white rice which is not that great for you. Brown rice is a better choice. Also, I would try not to eat too many crabs later in the day.   


Recipe

This is how we do california rolls at our house. We get the seaweed and cut big piece into 4s. So you have about a 4*4 size piece. Next Get the rice and put in big bowl. Slice up some avacado, cucumbers, get some imitation crab meat, Maybe some of the masago eggs if you like. and then we have everyone assemble their own. all you have to do it grab a peice of seaweed, spoon in a thin layer of rice over the seaweed, take a slice of cucumber, avacado, crabmeat and put in centerof the rice and seaweed. add a thin row of the masago, and then just fold it up by rolling by hand so the seaweed is on the outside. Dip in the soy sauce wasabi mix and enjoy. Very simple and easy, and it taste, better because its rolled fresh. Instead of making the seaweed all soggy from the rice and cucumbers and stuff.
