Calorie Shifting is a method of alternating the types of calories you eat in order to "keep your body" guessing as to what you are going to eat next. The reasoning behind this calorie shifting theory is to keep your body's metabolism confused enough to continually keep burning calories. You see, most people eat the same types of foods day in and day out, so your body has actually adjusted to that way of eating and will only burn a certain amount of calories. By using calorie shifting and eating just carbs or just proteins and then alternating these each day, you will not only lose the calories you are consuming, but your body will also start to burn off excess fat.

There is a weight loss program online called Fatloss4idiots that uses the calorie shifting as part of their diet program. It is actually very easy because once you sign up to their program, all you have to do is go to their online diet generator and select 15 foods out of the 30 they show you and click "continue". It then creates a meal plan for you for the diets duration which is 11 days. Your meal plans that it automaically creates already incorporates the calorie shifting theory into them. All you have to do is follow the diet plan to a T and it claims that you will lose "up to 9 pounds in 11 days".
