Camper Trailers

Camper trailers are one of the easiest and cheapest ways to travel. A few of the most popular materials that you can get camper trailers in are metal (stainless steel), fiberglass and aluminum. There are many benefits to having a camper trailer in your vehicle collection and we will discuss them in further detail below.

Benefits of Camper Trailers

Easy to Use - Camper trailers are one of the most easy things to use for camping, besides tenting. All you need to do to prepare, is hook on the trailer to your trailer hitch and off you go. Small camper trailers, like the 13' fiberglass one shown in the photo, are so light that they can even be towed with a small car. When you arrive at your campsite, you can leave the trailer hooked up to your car or unhook it from the car. If you intend to go out with the car and leave your campsite set up, the best thing to do is unhook the trailer.

Cheap - Camper trailers, especially vintage or pre-owned trailers are very inexpensive. You can even find them on eBay. If you are unsure if you will like camping, then purchase a small camper trailer and give it a try. If you like it, you can always sell the smaller one and buy a larger one.

Convenient - Camper trailers are very convenient for camping with small children or even adults. The comfort they bring is such that you may not even feel like you are roughing it at all. Most camper trailers come with a little kitchen area with counter, sink and stove top. There is also a little bar sized refrigerator. Along with kitchen amenities, you will find a dinette which turns into a full-sized bed. There is cupboard space and sometimes there is also a small settee or couch which can be pulled out into a small single sized bed. If you are really lucky, you may even get a small bathroom. Smaller camper trailers will not have a bathroom, but you can improvise by installing a port-a-potty in one of the cupboards.

Easy Storage - During the winter-time, you will need to put your camper trailer away since most likely you will not be doing any winter camping. Camper trailers do not take up a lot of space, but unless you have a lot of property at your residence, storing camper trailers is often looked after by a third party storage facility. This is especially handy for apartment dwellers who do not have parking space for camper trailers and also for people who own very little property. When storing camper trailers off-site, you will need to go and check on your trailer once in awhile just to be sure everything is in order and there are no leaks.

Kids and Camper Trailers

Kids love camping and the outdoors. Now a days we should really be encouraging them to spend time outdoors. We all have happy memories of carefree summer days hanging around and exploring outside and perhaps even of camping specifically. Camper trailers can help build these memories for children. Purchase a small camper trailer and make plans to go camping with it several times during the summer. Your children and family will thank you for it. The amount of time you may spend in preparing for a camping trip is worth it! You will enjoy it and being in the outdoors is healthy!

Pre-owned Camper Trailers

Purchasing pre-owned camper trailers is a cost-effective route to take. If you are thinking of getting into the camping experience, then have a look around at used camper trailers. Some really good deals can be had. Vintage camper trailers are very popular and trendy so you may not find too many of them around.

When shopping for pre-owned camper trailers, be sure and check out the following:

  • check electrical systems to make sure they are all working
  • check appliances to see if they are working
  • check tires for wear
  • make sure electrical hookup is safe for A/C system
  • make sure water tank holds water and is not leaking
  • - make sure there are no roofing leaks

New Camper Trailers

If you can afford it, new camper trailers are a luxury. You will spend more money than on pre-owned camper trailers, but you will end up with a brand new and warranted working vehicle. One that will serve you for many years of leisure camping and outdoor recreation. When shopping for new camper trailers, be sure and look around at several different outlets to see if you are getting the best deal. Take it for a test drive if you can.

Camper trailers will give you enormous enjoyment out of your leisure time. You will have countless hours of recreational fun and your family will thank you for the time you take to go on camping adventures with them. Enjoy your camper trailer and most of all enjoy your family with it.
