This is the tent we used to use for camping. This was in Golden, BC in 2004.

This is the May long weekend and my husband and I am going camping. Yes, sore back and all. I'm actually going to go camping after the long weekend. I don't want to get caught up in the long weekend traffic rush.

I don't know where I am going quite yet but it will be for a couple of days. My husband and I love camping. We love to get out in the fresh air. We love to build a bonfire and sit around it and listen to music.

We don't have to camp using a tent and air mattress. This year we can camp in style, well kind of. We have a camper for the back of our truck. I just finished sewing all new cushions for it and my husband just finished painting the outside of it.

My husband asked me write a list of what I was taking with me. I wrote two things on my list, my netbook and my digital camera. That is all I will need.

Camping was one reason I got my netbook. I won't be able to go on the internet with it while I'm away camping, unless I find a hotspot somewhere but I should be able to keep writing my hubs for the hubchallenge while I am away and then I will upload them all when I get back.

I like to write while I am outdoors. I get inspired to write when I am camping. Of course, I will have to find some shade because the hot, hot weather we get here in BC would melt my netbook pretty quick. However, I may just wait until night time and use it while we are inside the trailer.

The good thing about having the netbook with me is that I can store all my digital photographs on it. I like to take lots of pictures so now I won't have to worry about storage. My netbook has a 160 gig hard drive.

I can also have instant access to all my music with my netbook while we go camping. I bought a set of external speakers to attach to it because the sound on the netbook is kind of tinny.

One thing that we purchased a few years ago is an eliminator. It is a small box that provides ac/dc power. It can be charged up through the truck battery and with that I will be able to charge the battery on my netbook.

I am really looking forward to going camping next week but I do have one fear. I fear that my back won't be able to handle it. I am suffering from severe back pain right now due to bulged discs that I have and arthritis. However, I think that if I dress properly and take my fleece blankets with me, I will be fine. Who knows, maybe a camping trip is just what the doctor ordered.

We aren't going to wander too far from home just in case I can't handle it. I am hoping that the weather is nice for our little camping trip because my back needs some hot weather on it.

Camping is something that I love and I was really sad when our camping season ended last year so I am really looking forward to this year's camping season.
