Homeschooling Moms Can Handle Home Business

Homeschooling is becoming a hot trend for a lot of moms who have a online home business. It is not only effective way to educate your kids but it is time efficient and productive for children. For women who have a home business of any kind, homeschooling is the best way to go.

I shall explain why I recommend work at home moms to homeschool their kids. Not every mom will want to do and not every one will agree with what I think

I am a strong believer in education. Without proper education, I would never finish high school in Russia as the top of the class student, come to America in 1994 as NAFSA and USAID scholar and graduate with B.A in two years from the american university. I believe that education is the key for our kids and if I knew about homeschooling when I was growing up it would have been so much better and easier for me.

When I decided to work at home and build my online home business with reverse funnel system and a year later with CarbonCopy Pro System and and other income streams I have, I had to make a decision about my kids. My kids are my main reason why I do online business and knowing how busy I was homeschooling was best option. You would think, "Tatyana is nuts with her ideas" But before you do that, let me tell what I think.

If my kids were in a traditional school enviroment they would be in school mostly of the time. Yes good for me but not for them. They would be exhaused, grouchy, sleepy or worst on sugar rush! I would still have to do homework with them and spend hours explaining what teacher was supposed to do. It will leave me brain fried and my 6 year old will not be a happy camper.

Their well being is a big factor. With my schedule I can homeschool my son in the morning or afternoon and even spread it out. It is not a chore for him but joy. My school does not always involve sitting at the desk and spelling words. Life is a big fun game. We do cooking together, baking, cleaning, and even do shopping. He learns things from me and we build trust and love for each other. We learn about how to connect with each other from day one and not when he turns 14

If I have to go on a business trip my husband homeschools him and it is so easy and so flexibile. As you can see there are few points that I want to make

1. Time

2. Building Relationship

3. Fun

That is the beauty of homeschooling for work at home moms. It is doable. Everyone can do it if they really want it. Want and desire are the keys to successful homeschooling for moms who want to make money from home.

My son has the appreciation for what I do. I work at home. I am a bread provider for the family as well as my husband. He knows my time. He knows my schedule and I respect our time together when we do projects and do homework.

I think managing myself is the imporant factor why I can do homeschoolig, run a home business, be a mom and a wife. It is simple if you make it simple. I do not get my son involved in too many things as sports, music and arts! . I do not want to overwhelm him with all activities. Overloading kids with too much to do will never leave time for yourself and family.

Here are 10 tips for homeschooling moms who want to work from home but do not have enough confidence if they can do it:

1. Plan your week activities ahead of time

2. Every morning spend time eating or cooking breakfast together with your kids. It builds an amazing bond with your children.

3. Start your school program with simple reviews and spend about 45 minutes per each session. If you are homeschooling a preschool age children, two to three hours or school with activities is plenty.

4. Try to be done with school before lunch or shortly after. I do my best to finish all the school work before 1.30PM.

5. Afternoon is the time when I am getting back to my clients and customers. My son is involved in his quite activities as drawing, painting, or working with his lego sets.

6. When evening comes, make sure you spend at least an hour with your spouse and kids. Spring is around the corner, so make sure to get out outside for at least 45 minutes without phone interruption.

7. Evening hours could be from 7.30-8.30 PM. That is what I do every day when I have to get back to my prospects and training team members

8. If you have a growing team in your existing business, it is a great idea to host a team call once a week and provide training that way you do not feel you are babysitting every single member of your team.

9. If you work at home and have a busy schedule with your homeschooling, do not be afraid to let everyone know what you do and your time schedule.

10. Have fun! There is no point to homeschool and have a business if you do not enjoy it! Ask for help from others in your family or business associates from time to time.

I like your practical approach to working from home while homeschooling the kids. Many parents do feel overwhelmed just by the thought of running a business while still educating their kids.

It seems logical to operate from home while home educating the kids, but many home educators soon find out it is essentially like having two jobs -- particuarly when the kids are beyond the academic basics and require more orchestrated social activities, such as sports, 4-H, special lessons (music, instruments, voice, dance), etc.

But as you pointed out, planning one's day is key, as well as letting clients know that you educate your children at home.

Because homeschooling is now more accepted in society, many clients not only will understand your situation, but also respect a person who is in essence doing "two" jobs as long as you deliver great product/services within the agreed upon timeframe.

What I would like to add to your hub is that in addition to planning your day, (create and) include a team of professionals you can rely on to help you meet your contractual agreements with your clients should something comes up at home with one or more of your children. Nothing beats having a team (virtual or otherwise) to help you in time of need.

Your clients, team members, and family will all respect and admire you even more because you had the foresight to cover all the bases.

Dear Tisha

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. Homeschooling also gives freedom to travel and do things with kids that parents have to wait for break or summer vacation.

It teaches kidsabout freedom and showingt them that home business is not a stressful part of their life but rewarding.

Sincerely

What a wonderful job you do taking care of your children and working from home all at the same time. Then to ad home schooling on top of that is just simply amazing.

If you children learn just your dedication and determination - they will go a long way!

Interesting comment you make about your husband being patient with your son, mine is exactly the same and he'd do a better job at home schooling than I ever would. All the best,

Shaye

Hi Tanyata -

Great information and resources. I agree wholeheartedly about how well homeschooling and having a home business can work together. When I tell people I home school my three children ages 6, 9 and 11 people's comments are often something on the line of, "Wow - that's a lot of work and takes a big commitment!" They are often suprised by my response that in many ways homeschooling is a lot easier than sending them to public school. Of course as you all ready stated - it is a lot better for my children too.

Two years ago while in Scotland for three weeks, my children learned a tremendous amount, got to spend time with their Grandfather and I was able to continue keeping up with my business when the kids went to bed.

Recently I have become a single parent but thankfully I had build my home business to a level to be able to support my children and continue home schooling, so I would also like to offer encouragement to any single moms out there who think that homeschooling or having a home business is not an option for them - it is doable and a lot better than most alternatives.

Children can learn entrepreneurship, website design, internet marketing, real-life mathematic application, and more through involvement and exposure to having a home business growing in their environment.

I gave your hub a thumbs, up Del-ic-ous bookmark and look forward to reading more of your hubs!

Great information Tatyana - I love your articles. They are well spoken even though English is not your first language :) Good tips and resources too. And I love seeing someone work out a problem (to homeschool or not to homeschool) with a workable and even more beneficial solution!

I am seeing how homeschooled children are more well-rounded than most who have been public schooled. You can go on field trips to show them what they have been studying, they can work independently, they are not told what to think or have to compete with 30 other kids for the teachers attention...its about what is BEST for your child, and ultimately you as the parent are responsible for that, and if the school systems in your area do not meet your criteria for where you want your child to spend most of his childhood...then if you have the ability and desire - homeschool. I said if I ever had kids, I would homeschool them.

It sounds like your kids have a GREAT teacher in you...And it is wonderful that your husband can pitch in when you are not available - you must have found the right guy :)

Hi, Tatyana -

Great article! I, too, am a homeschooling mom - and, just starting out on the "work-at-home" part. We love homeschooling and love seeing how our children are flurishing in this environment.

You have some wonderful tips and resources listed here. I love taking a "peek" into how other families make homeschooling work for them.

When I get the comment (from non-homeschooling families), "Oh, I don't know if I could handle the kids all day." I always say, "I couldn't imagine NOT being with my children all day long!" It's such a grand adventure!!

I look forward to reading through the rest of your articles/hubs (I just joined your fan club)!

Peace!
