Can Hubbing Be Bad For Your Health?
55Hubpages
I have only known of the existence of Hubpages for nine days, the day I found them I joined. Already I see names that in this short time I have become familiar with and through their Hubs and comments left on other Hubbers pages I feel that I am getting to know them. Tonight I looked at a Hubpage by Candie V her hubs are such a great read that four hubs later I was still reluctant to leave, even now as I write this my mind is filled with Candie’s words and instead of concentrating properly on what I am doing part of me wants to go back and read some more.
A Foreigner in a foreign land
I live in Spain which is a country where people speak another language, a language that is foreign to me and at my time of life learning Spanish is proving a long slow job. I understand much more Spanish than I can speak which makes life really difficult for someone like me who likes to talk. I love my Spanish speaking friends and I enjoy spending time with them we have lots of fun but all the time I really have to concentrate in order to follow each conversation.
So when I found Hubpages it was a little like going into the kitchen of a really close old friend and enjoying a nice cup of coffee and a chat. Reading some of the Hubs is like taking your shoes off when you have been on your feet all day and slipping into some comfortable slippers, it is such a relief to get into them and immediately you begin to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Can hubbing be bad your health?
Can hubbing be bad your health? In my case I think that it could quite easily become addictive. I find myself while I am out and about thinking about and looking forward to getting back home so that I can get back on the computer and read some more hubs and the comments that have been left on them. I find my mind going off on all sorts of weird tangents as I play with ideas for a new hub. Sometimes my family have to speak to me more than once before they can get my attention as my mind has wandered off to Hubpages once again.
I have gone in nine short days from never having heard of Hubpages to being obsessed by Hubpages. The quality of the writing of some of the Hubbers is outstanding, the subject matter covered is so wide and various that there is something to match your every mood. I think that I am very fortunate that I have family responsibilities that require my input each day which keeps me off the computer until they have all gone to bed or I could quite easily be on the computer full time.
Having said all that there are many things on the Internet that are just as addictive like cards (I have been known to play a hand or two of Solitaire in my time) which really has very little redeeming quality it is enjoyable and relaxing but it can eat up your time and doesn’t produce anything worthwhile at the end of it.

In Conclusion
Hubpages on the other hand has a lot to recommend it; many Hubs are instructive, entertaining, inspiring and can be extremely funny.
If you take onboard some of the things that you read you will grow as a person, you will learn to see things from new perspectives see things in a new light value things more especially relationships. If you choose your Hubs wisely you will have your thinking challenged and you will be stretched.
So in conclusion I think the pros of Hub pages mightily outweigh the cons of addiction now if you will excuse me I just have time to get in one more Candie V before I go to bed.

Hi. My name's Tom, and I'm a Hubaholic.
Well, I'll admit to being borderline hubaholic. I'm still fighting it.
I can understand your dilemma with the language learning-- understanding always comes much faster than the personal usage, but you will probably find that a few words with gestures will serve you well in the road to full facility.
I once had a teacher who said that we have two ears and one mouth-- so we should listen twice as much as we talk. In the meantime, there's always HubPages-- express yourself! Welcome.
Candie it's freaky Spider is my fav too, if I ever see my birth mother I will ask her if I have a sister in the States, as for you saying I write in a similar way to you, I take that as the best complement that you could give me, I wish it were true your stuff is sooo.. cool and funny.
Hi Tom, that is such a witty response, not surprising really because your hubs are really witty at least the ones I have read. I look forward to reading more of your hubs, thanks for taking the time out to comment, it is really encouraging to someone new like me to get feedback
Hi Rochelle, I have just come back from reading your Confesions of a Bubble Exploding Addict, very very funny I am going back in a minute to leave a comment. You are right gestures do help, and I find I can understand people better when they are talking to someone else When they talk to me direct it's like someone presses a stupid button somewhere in me and all I can hear is blah blah blah Maggie blah blah que?

Oh dear.. I am a solitaire junkie from way back.. spider is my fav, but I have 60+ games I play around in.. not so much now that I have his addiction...er..hobby. Thank you for the kind words, you write in a similar way to me..or to what I think I do. I'm so excited to watch you become "you". Keep it up! {{{hugs}}}
