There are two types of exercises that are required to get rid of cellulite. You need to do cardiovascular exercises to burn fat and strength training to tone your muscles.
I found that the best cardio exercise for me was using a mini trampoline (don't buy a cheap one - Needak makes the best one). It is fun and easy and I did it while watching tv. There are also many really good health benefits to exercising on a mini trampoline. Start slowly - with the trampoline you will use many muscles that you normally don’t use. Start with five minutes and work your way up to thirty minutes at least three days a week. It’s so much fun you probably will want to do it every day. You can bounce, jog or do jumping jacks on it.
You will also need to do strength training. To reduce the lumpy cellulite look, you need to firm up the muscles directly underneath the cellulite which will create a smooth look on the outside layer of skin. What you are really doing is toning up your muscles so that they will push against your skin to pull it tight.
The exercises that work the best are regular floor exercises such as lunges, squats, and various leg lifts. Using a stepper to step up and down also works well to get rid of cellulite. These exercises should be done very slowly and without stopping in between sets. After you have done them for awhile, add leg weights to increase the workout.
Perform these exercises every other day. Try for three sets of ten reps on each leg. You should start seeing results in about a month after doing the cardio and strength training exercises.
