Can You Suffer From Insomnia Depression?
68
Insomnia and depression are related. You can suffer from this if you don't sleep well...
There are certain facts about Insomnia Depression that a lot of people should know. When one doesn't sleep well, they would develop this thing called insomnia. And when does depression comes into place? When there are repeated non-sleep moments or non-enough ones.
Depressed people normally can't sleep that much because they always have something up in their heads. If you believe that there might be a certain kind of link between these two, then you are absolutely right. They are inter-related and there is no way of saying that if you have a good rest, you won't be depressed. Rest and sleep are 2 entirely different things altogether. Our body needs around 8 hours of sleeping rest, at least. Therefore, there can be a rough gauge on when is enough and when is not. Even though with this said, not everyone can have a good rest late at night and factors like personal problems, relationship issues, work and other contributing stress-related factors might be the ones to trigger this sleepless disorder.
And when the brain lacks sleep, the body gets tired and that is when one isn't able to think properly. Depression will definitely set sail because there is a certain setback to the mind and body. There has always been this saying that the body is a river and the brain is the King. River of happiness, a passage and many more. If your mind or what is known as the King is tired and down, chances are the river of happiness won't flow well too. Age can also be another contributing factor. If you know that you are not really having a good rest and you are way beyond your years, something needs to be done quick. Rest well before it's really late and taking a toll on your mind and body. In a way, there can be said that as one ages, he or she is more prone to get Insomnia Depression.
Therefore, considering the fact that you realize you are suffering is way important. Try not sleeping well for a few nights in a row and watch your behavioral pattern. You will tend to feel lethargic, cranky and need 1-2 days to recuperate the mind and body too. More often than not, people suffering from Insomnia Depression do not realize that they are affected. Up to a point when something happens to make them behave way off their normal mark, would either others or they themselves realize something is up and happening.

2 or 3 days? How ever did you cope with that; I know I wouldn't 'survive'; because I've tried not sleeping just for 1 day and I couldn't take it already.. LOL...
It's a pleasure, dohn..that's right; not to go bed angry, ha..
OK, I'll give you some people, aka my husband who has bi-polar has a hard time sleeping. He claims he's not depressed, but I say he is. When he is more stable he can't sleep without mega drugs. I have seen him sleep for most of the day, for 2 weeks. I know "Bi-polar". I have times of depression (without meds) where all I do is sleep. I laid there and hoped if I slept long enough I would never wake up. Don't worry thats me without meds, when I was a teen and they didn't give meds to kids.
You have a point, but it's my opinion most depressed people sleep alot. Or is your point you need to sleep or you will get depressed? Hey I worked third shift for 12 years. I was sleepy 24/7. ok Ill stop now. Have a great day and God Bless
I like what you said here.. w/o the meds and able to sleep.. ah.. heavenly! Thanks for coming to this article hope to see more of you on Hubpages ;)
I like the point you are making here... I have been really researching a lot of sleep disorders and problems with insomnia and sleeping because of my son's sleeping problems. He too had problems with depression. You may enjoy my hub about teenage sleeping problems. Will definately check out more of your hubs. THANKS for this.
Thanks, Sheristeele, I'll definitely come and read your hub, this topic has piqued my interest too. Thanks for your comments and hopefully we can ward off sleeping problems for good..

When I pledged in a fraternity in college, I had to go 2 or 3 days without sleep several times. It was really ridiculous and counterproductive. Looking back I guess it was just all in good fun. I just wish my grades were a bit better :)
Thanks for sharing this informative hub. Stress can certainly play a role in this situation. I was always told to not go to bed angry...Just don't sweat the small stuff!
