dont go into too many technicalities or try to be a computer technitian.

• first did you buy your computer first hand or second hand make sure you bougth a good computer.
• even if it is a brand new one a demo hitch up could have been pushed to you thats what i mean when saying used.so dont get offended.
• dont open too many windows . your computer will slow down
• avoid power fluctuations your computer will slow down
• if you have a very powerful antivirus and a security software then your computer will slow down
• if you have too many files ,images , videos your computer will slow down.

solution

my suggestion is get an external harddisc 80 gb

down load all that you have stored in your computer and keep it handy. you can plug into your computer as and when needed.

take to office travel and plug into any computer.

you want more space dont buy 160 gb instead buy two 80 gb so you can segregate.

this is an easy way to maintain the speed of your computer.
