China, Tibet and Olympics

This is with reference to a request and in fact one question which is being raised many times recently -what has tibet got to do with China and the olympics. The fact is -nothing.

So, why are people demonstrating before the olympics and celebrities boycotting the olympics? I guess it has alot to do with personal beliefs and their values in life, but it is right? Well, with regards to personal values, it is indeed difficult to gauge.

Take for example, Steven Stilberg (maybe spelled wrongly but anyway the guy who make ET) deciding not to be in the olympic commitee, it is right? If you see it from his values, that is correct.

To him, China is using force, excessive force to curb the situation in Tibet. An d China is in way bullying Tibet.

But if you would to see it in a holistic view, when people riot in your Country, would the police in your area use force to maintain law and order.

Similarly, many politicans and celebrities have used olympics to pressure China into "being" nicer to Tibet, that again, is their belief. If you look at it from another point of view, they are in fact bullying China into submitting with whatever reference power that they hold.

In a nutshell, if you insert politics into anything, it becomes ugly. Olympics is just a game, but so many things have been added into it, I wonder if the folks competing in it still find it fun?

Games supposed to be fun, but with country glory to maintain, it is already not so fun. And now, with so many other hidden agenda, it might even becomes a chore to go to the game. In fact, with the series of bombing happening recently, personally I think it is quite dangerous too...

There you have it, my rattling on tibet, olympics and China, it is really a personal thing...

Tibet, olympics and china is as murky as these coffees...

Some coffee for you?
