I started a blog a little over a month ago. When I started the blog it was basically a journal for myself about what I found online and my personal progress, success and failures. As my web page has progressed it has evolved into a teaching and helping blog. I spend a allot of time on different forums reading and researching and trying different programs and affiliate groups. Looking for new techniques and ideas to build my traffic and learning how to earn extra income online. Making money online honestly is not the easiest thing in the world to do.

Sometimes I go cross eyed and I get so confused reading the in depth and detailed information I find online that by the time I am done reading an article I literally don't know any more then when I started. Some articles I guess are not simplified enough for the very new I mean the very very green newbies.

It took me a while to figure out what exactly Affiliate Marketing was about. Well if you know what the heck you are doing my blog and this post will for sure bore you to death. For those of you who are very green I hope you find it helpful.

What I have found out is almost every single item you can possible click onto is possibly an affiliate program of some sort or another. What I have started doing is actually looking for the affiliate link as soon as I see a program I am interested in. If it is free I join try it out and then I write a post about it on my blog. It is actually allot of fun once you know the name of the game.

I belong to half a dozen if not more affiliate programs. My blog kinda looks like a high ranking TV show with lots of commercials. The majority of my Affiliate programs I talk about and have  links to so my viewers can easily refer to them, and sometimes I just find something that is really cool so I just post it because i think it is worthy of the space on my site.

I write honest reviews of the affiliate programs I like best and I post about programs I have tried that i thought were, funny, a waste of time or just a waste of time and money. I only endorse products I have actually tried and have in place working for me.

So back to the original question can you make money online? Yes you can

Can you get rich overnight? Not that I have found.

Can you make money while you sleep? Yes you can

Can you make money and do absolutely nothing ? technically no

Can you make money in your pajamas? Yes

The thing is I am unemployed so I have allot of time to spend online reading, learning and researching so I have been able to make money online, am I rich yet no. My web traffic is improving and I am learning everyday so maybe one day I will make enough money I could brag about it. For right now for all the newbies and curious people who just want to know can you make money online. Yes you can it takes time, research, patients and determination.

Making money online and getting more traffic is probably the most frequently asked question I find when I am reading in forums.

One of the best ways I have found to increase traffic that have been totally free is posting in forums about your website or blog. One of my Favs is Blog catalog

Writing articles Hubpages is one of my favorite sites to write articles but there are many more.

Submitting your website or blog to search engines.

I started doing all these things about 2 weeks ago and I have significantly increased my traffic. I still am not at the number I am hoping for but everyday my traffic increases and my clicks to my adds increase.

One thing I must add is I am a member of Wealthy Affiliate and what I have learned, the tools and the resources I have received from this program in my opinion is worth every penny I have paid for the program. All the information they have on there is probably out there for free some where but I personally like it all in one convenient place and at the tip of my fingers. I know it has saved me a considerable amount of time and money being a member.
