Quests are a big part of World of Warcraft, they are also a significant tool for level advancement. Players who try to level up through combat alone will likely not advance as fast as those who combine questing with defeating monsters.

Quests reveal the lore of story as you dive into them. More importantly nearly all quests give sizeable experience rewards.
