Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, its only 100km from Africa, and as you can imagine, has a warm, dry climate all year round. Fuerteventura boasts some of the best beaches in all the Canary islands, with 340km of coastline. The island is one of the best places in the world for windsurfing, in fact the World Windsurfing Championships are held there each year. On the north coast lies Corralejo, one of the busiest resorts. With a lovely beach adjacent to the bustling harbour, and lots of shops, bars and restaurants, plenty of watersports available, and a wide variety of ferry trips along the coast. however, the best beaches on Fuerteventura are in the south of the island, on the Jandia peninsula.
