Whether it be a plant,an animal or a human,-their entire bodies are made up basically with cells,and the cells in turn are dependent on proteins.Energy living organism as listed above,has a gene.And this gene generates the needed protein,courtesy the ribosome.And hence is the profound historical significance for mankind,of the Nobel Prize for chemistry,2009.This competitive and complementary effort by Venkataraman Ramakrishnan,Thomas A.Steitz and Ada E.yanath provides a fresh & thorough light into the detailed chemical structure of the ribosomes and the process by which it assembles proteins for the cells.Significance of the Discovery,for the Antibiotics And immense indeed are the potentialities for a revolutionary design of new antibiotics based on the now discovered structures for the ribosomes.In fact,there is already a company called "Rib X" for that very purpose.Founded by Thomas A steitz a co-winner of this Nobel Prize,it has another co-winner Venkatraman Ramakrishnan as consultant.The basic science still do provide a great platform for progress,in DNA synthesis etc.!

In the early 1980's,Dr yonath of israel's weizmann institute of sceince,could  produce crystals for a large sub-unit of the Ribosomes-,and thus could throw open the facility for taking due 'x Rays' for the entire process.And around 2000 A.D,Dr yonath could determine by x rays the position of each atom present in the ribosomes.

And now,back to the genes,our genes are carried by the long thread-like molecules of the DNA.And these molecules are packed into those chromosome molecules.(A molecule is made up by a 'stable' combination of the 'unstable atoms').The DNA molecules,further,are capped and protected by telomeres,And the telomeres in turn form a solution. called Telomerase.And at this stage,one should for due enlightenment,get down to the fundamental basics of DNA synthesis and DNA tests.

The DNA synthesis from the gene revealed it,chemically,to be:"DNA:Deoxy-ribonucleic Acid,the main constituent of the chromosomes of all the living things,"--A Dictionary-And thus,the various processes of DNA synthesis and DNA Tests do pave the way for the development and sustenance of the human cell.

Initially in her work in DNA synthesis Elizabeth Blackburn discovered through her DNA testing experiments with a uni-cellular organism's chromosomes,a certain unclear regular sequence at the ends of the chromosomes.This sequence was called CCCCAA.Greider and Blackburn discovered in their DNA tests that in the concerned enzyme Telomerase,its component of RNA(rebonucleic acid)provided the needed pattern accurately for the CCCCAA in DNA tests.The telomere attracts,gets made up of proteins and this cap protects DNA synthesis.

The Ribosome is the cell's own protein factory.In simple layman's terms,the complementary effort by the three Nobel Laureates led to an "X.Ray crystallographic structure of 30 s Ribosome particle"from a bacterium called Thermus Thermophilusa-bacterium,And that is the principle discovery.

Potentialities for this research:

Genetic DNA: The cellular Ageing is delayed by telomerase.But the Ageing process is dependent on many other factors.Hence this discovery represents but a significant progress in Geriatric Medication.

Cancer Treatment:The cancer cells mutate and grow to large numbers.But the normal human cells do not divide to profligate.It was observed that cancer cells increase Telomerase Activity.Hence in cancer treatment,the due profligation can be arrested,by the eradication of Telomerase,by devising new methods.And so much for the possibilities in cancer Treatment.

Genetic Diseases:In Genetic Diseases derived from ancestors,it was found that they are due to Telomerase Deficiancy.And by due supplementation with new methods,those Genetic Diseases can be cured.

Certain skin and Lung Diseases:Some of the skin and Lung Diseases are also found to be genetically derived.And those particular skin and lung diseases can also be used-besides for cancer treatment-through the above methods of eradication of Telomerase.
