Candy Favor Tips for Your Party Favor Bags
62Do you need something to make your party favor bags standout? Party favors are a great way to make your guests feel appreciated. In this article I’m going to give you some tips to help make your party favor bags the hit of the party.
Get Your Candy From the Grocery Store
We’ll start out with the obvious... get your candy favors from the grocery store. You can go to your local store and pick up a variety of candies that can be used as party favors. Some of the candies that you will find in the local grocery store are valentines heart candies. These candies are greate for use at weddings. If you are hosting a bridal or baby shower you might want to search for candy that is wrapped in pretty pastel colors. Chocolate covered almonds are ideal for this type of candy favor. Find some colored or clear paper or plastic to wrap these candies in to make a nice party favor.
Put Your Name Or Face On the Candy
Personalizing the candy by putting your name or face on it is very popular. You can have the personalization done at a local specialty candy store. If you can not find a local store in your area then go online and search Google. You’ll find dozen’s of retailers that specialize in personalizing the candy and the wrappers with your special name, phrase, image or all of the above. One of my personal favorites is to get M&Ms personalized with special phrases. If you have an M&M specialty store in your area you can get it done there, if not go to the M&M store online.
Peppermints and Lollipops
During the spring and summer months many people like to have parties outdoors and take advantage of the wonderful weather and sunshine. However this is not an ideal environment for chocolate candy. If you are planning an event that is to be held outside consider hard candy for use in your favors. You can use peppermints as favors and refreshing after dinner mints. Lollipops are a great treat, and seem to be a hit with kids and adults.
Use Candy From Your Childhood
One of my favorite candies from my childhood was an incredible peanut butter concoction called a Chico Stick. Whenever I see a Chico Stick now it brings back fond memories. You can induce the same type of fond memories in your guests by providing candy from your childhood as candy favors. Your guests will be delighted to see favorites, like Blow Pops, Tootsie Rolls, candy corn, Now-Laters, and Lemon Drops.
Make The Candy Yourself
If you really want to put a personal touch on your candy favors try making the candy yourself. By making the candy yourself you can use the flavors, nuts, colors, and confections that you like. You can also shape the candy to be representative of the event, time, place, and mood of the party. Plus the best part is that making candy is a lot of fun. Just be sure that you actually save some of the candy you make for the guests!
