I possessed Sony a F717, which I really loved, but honestly said, everything that I did was it to car and good pictures. The problem was that I had a small child at home not to really wait until the camera took a few seconds to concentrate and pic. I was the missing smile and moments, only because Sony did not know the pictures fast enough.

I decided, in newer cameras... first my budget behaved approximately 400 dollar, and I was on the search to the purchase Canon S3. But after several weeks the expenditures on-line read evaluations (as probable are you now), I decided that I wanted a DSLR (there to find them many technical reasons into Web-und other evaluations). I was then ready, Canon buy Xt (Xti however that was only around the corner, so that I decided, waits a few weeks more and if the Xti became finally on 1. September, I went tons of Best Buy and got mine)

It is my third week with the camera, and I am it loving. I can saying the pictures of my son faster than it can, "bugga bugga bugga". While I still learn, as one the camera on their potential (I have to learn tried, as one shoots pictures in the manual mode instead of full mechanism), has I completely contently with the past results.

If you do, what I in the last month, can do you probably reading tons of evaluations of this camera, Canon Xt, Nikon D50, Nikon D70, Nikon D80, etc. It not your time on the details.... They are all outstanding cameras, and if you come P & S, one of these cameras will learn ingeniously for you.

I warn you however. The largest danger for the purchase of this camera is the fact that it soon craving for lenses... now I for hours on Web control of evaluations of Canon, Sigma, Tamron Objective, and whether you believe it or not to buy is many more with difficulty lenses than a camera to buy.

HP: A super book II got was "Understanding Exposure" of Bryan Peterson. I have the book before the camera, and it was one of the most important factors, those the decision brought me in DSLR the one per P & S. It shows the pictures Bryan that in this book it is amazing and you need control. Now I am possible paranoid itself with the smallest Depth OF Field into my son pictures (you will understand, if one explains this book or another concepts that the exposure)

Update (10/04): After weeks forums and evaluations dig, decided I to the purchase of 2 objectives... the canon 50 f1.8 and the canon 70-300 IS. I go letting you know not around the details for these lenses in this Review, but wanted that the decision was, the camera the simple part.
