Why would anyone need a car air purifier? Pollution, especially on the road, is more expansive than it has ever been – but it does not mean that one cannot do anything about it. The smoke and gas emissions from the thousands of vehicles that zoom through the streets everyday harm motorists and their passengers, which would include their loved ones and children. Long term exposure to pollution causes adverse effects such as lung cancer, or asthma complications. Young children should not be exposed to smoke and dust as much as is feasible, to put off the amount of pollution that they will be exposed on to throughout their lives. Furthermore, their immune systems are still developing, and it might be easy for them to suffer coughs from smoke and fumes. Some people have very serious allergic reactions to foreign substances emitted by cars, buildings, and the like.

And yet travelling on the road cannot be avoided, and the air pollution would only be stemmed by improving vehicle technology, or stopping using cars altogether. Since both options cannot be achieved instantaneously, one can look for alternative ways to breathe in cleaner air while travelling.

This is where a car air purifier comes in. They are usually made of three filter layers. The first filter captures large particles of dust and odors. Then, a mechanism that gives off electricity, or ultra violet light (not the kind that causes skin cancer) may filter and kill bacteria, pollen, and other microscopic particles. Finally, a third filter (usually made of VOC) can remove the odors which enter the car. The result is cleaner indoor air inside the vehicle, through (at least) a partial shield against the harsher elements outside the car. These mobile air purifiers can be attached to the back of a driver’s headrest, and can run on the car’s battery power. Their filters, of course, should also be changed regularly.

An air purifier for the car is made to withstand dirt and pollution more intensively than a home air purifier can. A car air purifier can be brought along and used in hotel rooms, or even offices. It can really help improve indoor air quality, and literally allow people to breathe easier. Some people have even discovered that it is very effective to place one of these amazing filters in a boat, to protect it from developing mildew or other microorganisms.

Some vehicle models already have car filters installed into their systems. Check with the car manual or the mechanic whether a car already has this feature. But even then, installing an inexpensive yet a powerful car air purifier can be an additional step to making road travel a less hazardous experience. Cleaner air makes for a happier trip, and for healthier, longer lives.

Yes, my hubby is actually somewhat obsessed with air purification and bought a few car air filters for both of our cars. The picture above is actually a picture of the filter in my hubby's car. They work pretty well.

Seems like he is also obsessed with cleanliness as the car in the picture is a bit too clean. Or its brand new?

I seriously don't pay much attention to the cleanliness of my car which is bad.

LOL. Yes he is definitely a clean freak! The daily messes that our three year old makes drives him crazy.
