It is detrimental for the security of your vehicle that one should have a car alarm system installed. It's a proven statistical fact that car alarm systems deter would be car thieves nine times out of ten. An astounding eight out of ten vehicles stolen have no alarms or an inadequate system installed in the first place. While it's true that choosing an alarm system for your vehicle can be a daunting and confusing task, the risk involved in not having one far outweighs anything else. Granted some of them are expensive to begin with and that's without installation. Nevertheless, the truth is that if you research the best car alarm systems to install in your vehicle, the less likely it's going to be stolen.

The first thing you need to know about buying an alarm system is that prices range from anywhere to $39.99 to almost a $900.00 hundred dollars for a really good one. The difference in prices is not only because the higher end alarm systems come with extra security features, but as they also help to make it easier for you to do everyday tasks. One of the best features available in Viper car alarm systems is the 'remote start' feature. What this does is actually start your car automatically for you from a few hundred feet away as soon as you press the remote control button. Most of these can be pre-programmed to start at a specific time each day or night. This is great in the winter time where you wont have to sit in your freezing car while waiting for it to warm up.

The majority of the high end remote controls have a small LCD digital picture of a car displayed on it. If anyone should open your car door, the car door on the remote will actually appear open as the alarm goes off warning you of the intrusion. This applies to your car being hit as well, as if it is, a picture of a hammer hitting the car would also be displayed. Most features vary depending on the model you chose. Most LCD remotes will also display time, date and even the temperature inside your vehicle. They tend to have a mile or so range which is excellent if you cannot find parking close to where you going to be.

Another feature you need is one called code hopping. What this does is to continuously scramble codes each time you press your remote. This will keep any car thief from cracking them. There's also the programmable automatic lock which would actually lock your doors for you and arm the system in the event you may have forgotten to have done it manually as you exited your vehicle. Most also have what is called a 'panic button' feature which would actually cause the alarm to blare loudly in case you needed to bring attention to your self, your car or to simply scare someone away. Keep in mind that in order for you to get the majority of these features in any car alarm systems, you will most likely spend about $300.00 for one. But having an alarm with this amount of security will enable you to get a great deductible on the price of your insurance. In my humble opinion I see no reason to not have an alarm installed in your vehicle as the pros far outweigh the cons. So why bother with car alarm systems?" I'd say don't wait till your car is stolen to get one.
