In my last post I had discussed about the classification of cards on mechanism basis.Here I will elaborate how card can be classified by its objectives.This second classification is according to what are required to do so that you can win the game(ie the objective of the game).

Capturing Cards

In this games the main aim is wither to avoid capturing cards or to capture cards. It may be that the sheer quantity of cards captured is important or it can also be that some cards are valuable than others.

Shedding or accumulating cards

Here in this game the aim is to either get rid of the cards or to gather cards.

Forming combination of cards

The main objective of this game is that you win by scoring points, or combining cards in various ways.

Comparing cards

This is comparatively a simple game in which winning or loosing depends on comparing one cards with another.

Other objectives

In this it is the accommodation of games whose objectives are different from any of the above.
