Is Your Career Leading To Your Childs' Demise!

Are you a parent who has ever thought about working from home? Are you TIRED of the rat race of your daily routine and never having an opportunity to see your precious bundle of joy flourish each day? If so, I can truly relate to your situation. Being a parent today can really be challenging. Because we have to deal with so many issues. One of those issues we have to deal with as parents is Corporate America. Corporate America has really become a monster in the last few years. The reason being is because it has changed. Parents can't seem to keep a stable income..... or better yet a financial future that's secure. So many parents today are looking and searching for answers or they are working two or three jobs just to make ends meet. Better yet, they are working extended hours because ......

Can you IDENTIFY with the situation? If so continue to read as I share my story:

You know as I look back on my childhood, I remember my parents always working. I remember my father working nights and my mother working days. Their schedule was normally 11-7 and 7-4. But, God forbid if they had to considered working overtime. If my father worked overtime, he would work another 8 hour shift, which would be a 7 -3. If my mother worked overtime it would be a 2 or 3 hour shift plus her commute.

So I ask you the reader, where did this leave me?

I was basically with my babysitter as weeks, months, and even years passed by while my parents were caught up in their daily routine of working.

You know I can remember evenings on the porch with my grandfather listening to a baseball game wondering, when my mother was coming to pick me up. I remember being in the kitchen some evenings with my grandmother helping her cook dinner wondering again...... I even recall falling asleep in their laps many evenings waiting..... I also remember being picked up many nights and being placed into my bed. If I can recollect correctly, I believe I only saw them on the weekends. But those weekends were beautiful. I can remember those weekends like it was yesterday.

The sun would rise and my mom and dad would be there gazing in my eyes as I awoke. And after awakening we would have a breakfast that seemed like a feast. And the meals that followed were all same. It was truly some amazing weekends. You know as a child enjoying those moments, I really wished I had many more days like that. Where we could see the sun rise and even see the sun set together, but by my parents working outside the home, those days diminished quickly. And before I looked around I was an adult headed off to college. Little did I know, I was setting myself up to repeat this same process.

So again, I ask you the reader or better yet the parent, "Do you want those precious moments to slip through your hands where your child is there one moment and then the next thing you realize is that 18 years has passed away? Or would you rather be at home with your child spending that precious time with them? Watching them grow from a little girls or boys into prominent adults?"

As a parent, I contemplated those same questions too. I had to consider, if I wanted my kids at the babysitter or daycare all times of day or if wanted them at home.

Now, as a mother, wife and entrepreneur, I see the work theology completely different. I realize that I don't have to be in someones office to have true success. I can truly be in the comfort of my home office working around my kids. I also, realize there is no limitations because I'm my own boss. And by being my own boss, I have flexible hours, no salary limitations, and no commute. But, most importantly, I spend more time with my family.

So, now the decision is yours!

Take a moment and close your eyes. Imagine your ideal business endeavor where your working at home around your kids. Can you see it? Can you feel it? Or better yet, can you touch it? Do you see that light at the end of the tunnel?

If so, do you have that burning desire to make it happen, now?

Just remember, as Gillian Anderson said, "you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears.

If your looking to making your business endeavor a reality not a dream come here and decide if a Network Opportunity is for your or if its just a business endeavor.

Hi Donna, Great Hub. I like how you tie in your own experiences with how working at home can be the solution for a lot of moms and dads. If there ever was a motivation to start a home business, I would think being home with your children would be it.

Donna,

Good hub and very challenging.  I understand what you are writing about as I’m sure many other do.

As a grandpa, I hope I can help fill some of those parent gaps. I’m praying that more parents will not only identify with what you are writing, but take action now.

I think you turned out pretty good. Thumbs up. ~ eddie

Donna,

You nailed it perfectly. This is a very strong WHY, that many people need to understand when they start their busyness's. Defining a strong why like (Staying home with the Kids), will help during those times when we say we just can't go on.

Thanks again Donna for sharing another wonderful life experience.

Donna,

As a working mother, I can totally relate to what you are saying in this hub. Very thoughtful and insighful words. Take the time to realize what it is you have to give up to get what you want and deicde whether it is worth the undertaking!

As the neighborhood mom bandaging not only my own kids' booboos but those of all their friends, coupled with a long teaching career, I've seen first hand the benefits for the entire family when there is quality time to spend together. Kudos to you, Donna, for your efforts to help others reap the rewards. :)
