In the comments made to my hubpage "Could Astrology be proved ?", Ervin suggested to me to see Carl Sagan argument about Astrology so here it is.

Well as the huge majority of Scientists, he doesn't believe in Astrology. His argument is based on the twins fate.

Unfortunately Mr. Sagan isn’t with us any longer. He should have had his Chart done. Astronomers are so smart that they can’t even figure out if PLUTO is a planet or a giant ball of fart gas. Lol. After it’s discovery as a planet in the 30’s, some 80 years later, OOPS and now they change their minds! They need their Black Holes cleaned out. Astrology is 6,000 years old; Astronomy grew out of Astrology and is lucky to even be close to 500 years old. And ah yes, the twins! No twins are ever born exactly at the same time as the other. The moon is the fastest, the planets are slow and it is quite possible for the Moon to change signs within minutes. So, one twin sibling can have a Gemini Moon and the other a Cancer or any of the zodiac combinations that are adjacent. Also the Rising Sign, aka the Ascendant, that is determined by the TIME OF BIRTH, 6,000 years of research! The Ascendant then determines what Zodiac sign will be in the lead-off position in the Zodiac Wheel of a person’s Natal Chart and then this will describe (from the 6,000 years of research) that person’s birth info which could very well be totally different as his or hers twin sibling! I have BILLLLLLLLIONS and BILLLLLLLLIONS more examples but there is no need to defend it further, except that Newspaper Horoscopes are not the real thing, THEY ARE ENTERTAINMENT and are printed disclaiming that as such or should be. Some papers I’m sure are scammers. It’s too bad, I miss Sagan’s entertainment, all we have is a 6,000 year-old YouTube of him.

pauliewalnuts you definitely seem like a true 'walNUT'

To slander the modern day scientists decision to remove the classification of pluto as a planet is just simply ignorant, and shows that you focus your research primarily on the ancient topic of astrology.

Just because some 'research' might be 6,000 years old does not make it correct. The ancients created stories about the stars because it was there way of making sense of the world we live in. Today, we have modern day science to help us make sense of this and it simply does not compute with astrology because it is a completely different method. Stories versus a scientific method.

You simply cannot compare the two things because they are from completely different times.
