CARMEN ELECTRA has been accused of sharing a lesbian love affair with rocker JOAN JETT.

The ex-Baywatch beauty, 34, is said to be "besotted" with Joan, on whom she had a childhood crush.

Sensational reports claim Carmen and Joan - who had a smash Eighties hit with I Love Rock n' Roll - were allegedly seen kissing and touching backstage after a US concert.

Yesterday Carmen's spokeswoman insisted: "They are just friends." But the pair are expected to appear together at a gay bash in Palm Springs, California. It is claimed they have been secretly dating for four months.

Sexpot Carmen split with hubby DAVE NAVARRO, the ex-RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist, in August. Their divorce became final last month.

Carmen appeared in 48-year-old Joan's A.C.D.C. video and is tipped to attend next week's Dinah Shore Weekend with her.

One source was quoted as saying: "It's known as the lesbian prom. Carmen and Joan are planning on enjoying all the fun the weekend has to offer - and they'll be making a very clear statement to the world by attending together."

Carmen, who is in London to promote her new movie I Want Candy, first met Joan at the Dinah Shore weekend last year.

Joan has refused to discuss her sexuality. But her A.C.D.C. track contains the lyric: "She got some other lover as well as me."
