I heard the Castor & Pollux Cat food brand contained rice protein concentrate.

I read it on ITCHMO website. It mentioned it was one of the brands that has rice protein concentrate in it. Rice Protein Concentrate was in Blue Buffalo and Natural Balance that's why they were voluntarily recalled.

I do not see the rice protein listed in their ingredients. I did see whole brown rice, though. I don't believe there is a problem (at this time) with this pet food I've reviewed.

Hi , I feed my sweet boy Casey the castor & pollux ultra mix & Flint River Ranch dog food from flintriverranch.com . I did tons of research on dog foods before I got him in November ( he was rescued from a hoarder so deserved so much good in his life - they all do ! ) and found these two food companies to be the best and safest ! He is thriving on them , I also rescued a cat and feed her both brands and my vet just said yesterday when I took them for their booster shots they are wonderfully healthy & happy ! Here is their site to reassure people ! My precious animals being so healthy and happy is my proof ! Have A great day !     http://www.castorpolluxpet.com/your_questions/cann . here is the site to get the flint river ranch food - It is really good and both animals love the taste of both foods ! http://www.flintriver.com/productinfo.asp?pi=Flint

I switched my one and a half year old Cairn Terrier to Organix about four months ago. A couple months ago the vet started to notice tarter on her teeth. This past week she has lost two teeth, and needs her teeth cleaned and possibly some of them even pulled. I strongly believe that it has to do with the food.

Save yourself some time and money and look elsewhere.

My two Maltese have been on Castor & Pollux's Organix kibble almost their whole lives. One is 4 and the other is 6. Neither one has needed a dental yet. They had their yearly physicals about a month ago and the vet says they have only a small amount of tarter on their teeth but none at the gumline. I hate to say it but I don't brush their teeth and I've very pleased that their teeth are so healthy.

Could you explain... this food is rated 10/10 .. so why is the score only 68?
