Cat boarding may give you peace of mind

Several years ago we had a customer with 2 Maine Coon cats. She had a job that was taking her out of state for several weeks at a time. She decided to use Happy Cat Retreat cat boarding for her two cats (ages 7 & 9). We boarded her two cats in condos with indoor/outdoor access, condos about 4x4x8. They were given access to a play area 3 times a day. All in all they were happy cats during their 2 week stay.

We didn't hear back from her again, but at the end of the year we contact all our customers to see if they were happy with our service or had suggestions to make it better.

Well sad to say, she reported her 2 cats had died. Seems like rather than paying us to take care of her cats, her sister agreed to care for her cats. Only problem was, she did not give them any water for 10 days..... When she returned, the cats were extremely dehydrated and to make a long story short, they did not survive.

So the moral to this article, if you have someone take care of your cats or dogs etc. make real sure they are reliable. I'm sure her sisters intentions were good, but the 2 cats didn't survive because of her.
