I have a friend in country NSW who made a phone call to a friend in country South Australia. She's chatting away when the friend says there is a noise behind her and it is the cat coming into the kitchen through the cat flap. The cat is carrying something in its mouth that is long, black and moving.

"Oh My God" the friend calls out "the cat has a black snake in its mouth!"

"The cat is playing with it at my feet" she reports.

"I'm on the chair" she says. "the cat is still playing with it and I am now on the table"

"Relief - the cat has killed it; I‘ll have to go and clean up this mess!"

After all this drama my NSW friend hangs up the phone and finds that indeed, "Yes" she has subconsciously gone out in sympathy with her friend, and is also standing on the table!!

True!

Great horrors.

I have traveled all over Australia for over 7 years.

The only snake(apart from snake farms) had slivered into an office in a Suburb call Greystanes .The Office lady screamed and by the time I got through the door, A pure brave gentleman had belted it over the head with a long handled Shovel. result dead snake.

Like your story, I can picture

the mess.

Her cat was brave

This happened to a friend of mine - however we actually had a brown snake in our kitchen last february '08 - I was frankly quite petrified - luckily it left of its own accord! although I am still worried because about a half an hour later the snake catcher arrived and couldn't find it! we are hoping it hasn't hibernated under our verandah to come back and terrorise us again next spring. cheers and thanks for your comment.
