Cats Picture Collection
53I have thing for taking pictures of the cats in my neighborhood. They're too cute. Enjoy!
These are my furry feline friends. I feel bad for these cats, they just roam the neighborhood living off of scraps that we feed them. Some of them resort to hunting lizards. I actually saw one of them catch a lizard as it jumped into the air and chew it's head off. It was surprising, as of course, a bit gross. I wish I could find a home for them all. A friend suggested that I posted them on Craig's List. Much to my dismay I recently heard that people (if they can be called that) have been using stray dogs and cats as bait for sharks. I can't believe that someone would do such a thing.
If anyone lives in Miami and wants a cat (as a pet, and not as bait) . . . let me know!
I apologize for the pictures that have some kind of fuzz around the edge, those were taken with a camera phone.

I love playing with them. Most of them are friendly but there are a few that never had enough human contact to be comfortable around us. There are some that run away even when I throw food their way (never mind getting even near those). Would the adoption fee weed out ill-intended people?
These pictures aren't that bad Marie, despite the fact that you took them with a camera phone. You have must have a huge heart to have such a penchant for your friends. Thanks for sharing.
The adoption fee weeds out all of them, from my experience. The promise of a visit to their home to see where the adoptable pet would live also weeds them out.
For those cats who still run away, try getting humane traps from a feral cat rescue group in your area and trapping, neutering, and returning them. If you can't find a feral cat group, check out Alley Cat Allies. The group in our area holds low-cost clinics for spay/neuter and shots, and provides traps. Then the cats who aren't socialized can live healthy lives outside without producing more kittens.
I will try that for sure. I feel very bad for the female cats; they seem to have one pregnancy after the other.
Thank you for the idea.
Great pics - beautiful kitties!

Those are adorable! Kudos to you for feeding the cats and making sure they're socialized. Are they all friendly? If so, you might consider putting them up for adoption but asking an adoption fee and doing a home visit to each potential family. That's what we do to make sure our fosters are going to be safe. Good luck finding them homes!
