Cats and Water Beds.

I have had water beds for almost twenty years and cats for the same amount of time and the two have always got on very well together, never a problem. Until this week.

I woke up a couple of nights ago and felt a damp spot in the bed as it as the early hours of the morning I just went back to sleep and the next morning took the quilts of the bed and it looked fine.

Maybe the kids had spilt something on it or Mr Tiggles had an accident so I washed the quilts and put them back on. That night I woke up to the same thing so the next morning the quilts came off and no leak but this time I lifted the bladder up and the bed liner had water in it.

My water bed was leaking. O Dear.

I called Simply Waterbeds in Rugby  who had supplied me with the bed I have used them for a number of years and the customer service is very good and their beds are wonderful, (yes it is a plug for them) and we agreed a time the next day for someone to call who would fix the leak. The next day right on time a man came round and fixed the leak, serviced the bed and every thing was OK.

Apart from the bed being a few weeks out of guarantee so I had to pay for the repair, such is life.

What surprised me was he only arrived with a small towel and a little box. It was all he needed to do the job. Within a few minutes he had found the leak and asked me if I had a cat. I did and Mr Tiggles was found to be the culprit. A tiny claw prick in the corner of the bed.

Mr Tiggles

It was not me. How could it have been?
It was not me. How could it have been?

We talked for a while and he told me many story’s about cats and water beds apparently it is not uncommon. Kittens are the biggest culprits. So if you have cats and waterbeds it might be the time to keep them out of the bed room.

Mr Tiggles is not happy with this and has complained about the rule changes however we have managed to come to an agreement that he will learn to enjoy.

Problem Fixed
