What is the difference between mayonnaise and salad dressing?

Although similar in taste, texture and appearance, salad dressing is usually a bit sweeter than mayonnaise.

Cauliflower Salad is easy prepare - no cooking required! Just assemble, chill, mix and serve!

I love to bring this dish to summer cookouts. It's a great alternative to macaroni or potato salad and it's always a hit! In fact, a friend once remarked, "Wow! I didn't know you could make cauliflower taste good!"

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bunch of Romaine, torn into bite size pieces

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 6 slices of turkey bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups lowfat mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, grated
  1. Place Romaine in large glass bowl. Layer cauliflower florets, bacon, then red onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Spread mixture over onion layer, covering completely and sealing to the edge of the bowl.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with saran wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours.
  4. Toss before serving.
