You too, my mother, read my rhymes
For love of unforgotten times,
And you may chance to hear once more
The little feet along the floor.
Visual Aides for writing a Mothers Day Poem
So now you're beginning to think about a Mothers Day Poem
In this Module I'd like to show you a template to base your poem on. Whilst it's great if everything rhymes and is spelt correctly it is better to express what you feel rather than for the poem to academically correct (appologies to any teachers out there!)
Useful rhyming words for Mum
become, some, come, platinum
example or use this as a template
you were always there as
I grew up
________2nd line_____________
________ 3rd line ____________
I'm so proud that you're my Mum
Suggested second lines
I was very troublesome,
bothersome, burdensome, quarrelsome, and tiresome
You're as groovy as they come
It's down to you what I've become
You were Tweedledee to my Tweedledum (a nice reference to Alice in Wonderland)
You're solid platinum
As you can see- anything that ends with ‘um’; you might like to make it a poem about maths. And don’t forget you can usually use plurals like sums.
The third line doesn't need to rhyme so can be anything
eg:-You were my stone to
lean on
It's no wonder that I love you
In the lottery of life, I got the best
You're the very bestest in the world
So, Mrs. (Joan Elsie Smith) of ( Consett)
So, for example
You were always there as
I grew up
You're as groovy as they come
In the lottery of life, I got the best
I'm so flattered that you're my Mum
And for Northerners (North of England that is), useful rhyming words for Mam
am, pram, lamb, exam
So, for example
You were always there as
I grew up
And I'm very proud, I am
In the lottery of life, I'm a winner
I got the bestest Mam
Or another example
You didn't study for this
job
Or have to pass an exam
So how come you turned out to be
The World's most expert Mam
Another useful template for Mother's Day is
____any first line____
This card is sent to say
____any third line___
On this your special day
So, for example:-
Mum, (Mam,) you are my
everything
This card is sent to say
Relax, and put your feet up
On your very special day
The main thing to do is have fun. When you have fun with these things your natural passion for life floods out and your mum will see that and it’ll make her feel proud to be your mother.
Thoughts about writing a mothers day poem for your mom
Mothers Day poems are a celebration of love, strength, character, selflessness, joy and family. You can write a Mothers Day Poem to any Mother in your life whether she’s your wife, sister, friend or even your own mother. The sentiments are always the same and we all know the amount that mothers give up in order to raise their children; the daily grind and the thankless tasks that go into bringing up the next generation of society. An ideal way to show our gratitude to the mothers of the world is to express it in poetry. A Mothers Day Poem can express many deeply felt emotions in only a few words and can easily stir the spirit and emotions of the recipient.
Now, most people aren’t poets by nature so it can be a pretty tall order to write those few words that tell of your gratitude, love and loyalty to your mom but don’t despair, there are options! You can go online and find a beautifully crafted poem by a master wordsmith and copy it out onto a piece of handmade paper with an old-fashioned ink pen (tip: choose a good nib for italics to create flow within the line of each word and practice a couple of times before applying your words to the expensive paper). Once you have written your poem you can decorate it with a collage to frame your words. Alternatively you might choose to draw or paint flowers around the body of text. You might even roll up your work of art and deliver it with a ribbon tied around the scroll, or even better she might like it framed so that it can be displayed. This will make her very proud and will be a constant reminder to her of your deep affections. Either way you can be sure that the mother that you’re giving this to will be delighted that you have taken some time out of your day to think of her and make her something beautiful.
Before you give your gift of a Mothers Day Poem you might like to go into the garden and pick her some beautiful spring flowers. No one can deny the beauty or meaning of a poem delivered with freshly cut flowers. Whatever you do for the Mothers in your life this year make sure you show them that you love them and appreciate all that they do for you- make this year count as the memories created now will strengthen all bonds of family for the rest of your lives.

You want to give her flowers but a poem is better
No money for a mother’s day gift- no problem all you need is a pen, some paper and some coloured pencils. Now look, your mother has been looking after you, loving you, giving you guidance, offering solutions to all your problems since before you could open your mouth to cry for some more breast milk. So the very least that you could do is show your appreciation by giving her a cheerful smile and a little poem to show your gratitude and do you know what, showing her a little gratitude will make her want to look after you until at least next mother’s day.
Now, what to write in your poem? I’m sure that you’re no wordsmith so go online and find a beautiful poem that you can simply copy out in your best handwriting onto a piece of hand made paper. If there’s no hand made paper around then just find a nice piece of card. It doesn’t have to be long- four lines will do; eight’s better. Now, look at the poem you’re about to copy and map out how will look on the page and when you know where each line will go, just start. Remember it’s not a race; she will know if you’ve hurried it and if you take your time you may even enjoy doing this. When you’ve finished your poem you’ll need to decorate the poem. The simplest way of doing this is to draw and colour in some flowers.
So it’s the day that you’ve been preparing for and you have your mother’s day poem all written out and decorated, and you’re feeling very proud. Why not make it extra special by going into the garden and picking a few flowers for her. She’ll love poetry, flowers and smiles from her child as she wakes. It’s the perfect way to start the day. Go on, make her feel special this mother’s day by writing a poem and delivering it in style.

A Poem for Mothers Day
Mothers are the
gardeners
Mothers are the gardeners
Of wind-blown wild flowers.
They water them with happy tears,
Happy with them many years,
Even as the hours
Ring with sweet, sad melodies
Sighing through their bowers.
Mothers day gifts with free shipping
With Mothers Day around the corner and money being tight, should we take advantage of free shipping? Free shipping when offered by flower and gift companies as an incentive for us to purchase from a vendor, so when contemplating taking advantage of the offer we need to look at a few things.
Firstly, who are we buying for? Well at this time of year we are generally going to be buying for our mothers or a mother in our lives. Some mothers simply appreciate anything that their offspring may give them and so buying flowers with a free shipping promotion would seem like a reasonable solution. However, we then must look at who we are buying from. Is the company reputable, are they a local, national or international brand and do we trust that brand? Most delivery services give their guarantees on their web pages and so I suggest that you look there. Also if they are a national or international brand they have a reputation to uphold and so therefore we can assume that if they were to deliver the flowers late or in a dishevelled fashion then they would slowly lose that reputation. Buying a gift basket with free shipping is less likely to disappoint than when sending flowers as flowers can dehydrate very quickly in this weather.
Most goods that are offered with free shipping are high end products so the cost of shipping is usually included in the price anyway. But the reputation of the vendor must still be checked. Mothers day is a once a year occasion and, being such, it is paramount that the gift is delivered in good order as even with the guarantee, a spoilt presentation of your gift cannot be rectified with a refund. Of course there is one way to get around the problem of whether or not to take advantage of the free shipping offer and that is to deliver the flowers or gift basket yourself; I'm sure that your mother would appreciate this much more. Happy Mothers Day to all.
