Celiac disease is a kind of digestive disease that ruins the villi of the small intestine when the affected person ingests any form of gluten in form of wheat, rye or barley.

May not be as severe as Swine Flu, but its symptoms can be multifaceted and intense that include gas, bloating, diarrhea, skin rashes, headache, depression, attention deficit disorders, weight loss etc.

Doctors are saying that it can take months to diagnose a patient correctly for this kind of disorder.

In Israel, around 45,000 people are estimated to be affected by this disease while they don't even know about it.

Celiac disease can be initially confused by an irritable bowel disorder, iron-deficiency anemia or infection in the intestine. And that's the most horrifying part of it as it takes years to correctly diagnose it.

Having a gluten-free diet seems to be the only way to get rid of it. The doctors can perform a blood test or a biopsy of the intestinal tissue to diagnose this disease.
