Challenge yourself daily
59How do you achieve self confidence? Do you achieve it through reading books other people have written about how they became self confident? No! Do you attend seminars organized by people who have already achieved self confidence? Off course not! And why is that? You can never achieve anything by copying other peoples success. Especially not when it comes to finding your confidence.
But first, why is self confidence so important? Your confidence is a essential part of you. You might not realize this, but people can very easily read other peoples confidence levels. We judge people based on their confidence. Your confidence describes you as a human much more than your haircut, clothes, shoes and accessories. Its a reflection of your very essence.
So it goes without saying that if you have a poor self confidence others may write you off as insecure, impolite or shy. This will again effect all spectres of your life. Love life, family life, work life etc. Everybody is looking for confident employees, lovers, family figures. Nobody is looking for shy lovers, insecure workers and impolite family members. In most cases people with poor self confidence are not insecure, impolite or shy, but that is the classic signals they send out.
I didnt always use to be confident. I still struggle to be confident in every situation. I read a bunch of books about self confidence. I even studied psychology for a year, but I never became more confident. Reading vague assumptions about confidence and reading about how other people became confident did not help me, but it gave me an Idea. You see, you cant just read a book and suddenly have a great self confidence. You need to work on it. And trust me, you do not need to read a lot of books to find out how to work on your self confidence. That is why I made an easy system that gives me daily oppertunities to strenghten my confidence. And here it is, in all its simplicity. Free for everyone to use if they choose to. It also comes with an garantuee: You WILL become more confident if you use this easy EASY system.
1. Seek out situations that make you uncomfortable and face them! I know I said you wont achieve anything by copying others success. And you wont. Your experience from using this system will be very different from mine, and I doubt you will confront the same situations as me. But you will confront your social fear and your self confidence will improve.
Tip: You might want to start out easy. Years ago I had a problem socializing and it was my biggest problem. But I was not ready to just start talking to strangers on the bus. That would probobly cause a nervous break down. So I started chatting with people online. Although this was a big and scary step for me at the time(now I laugh at it) I was able to start socializing with total strangers. My confidence rose and i got positive feedback from people I chatted with which boosted my confidence. From there I worked my way to talking to my hairdresser, taxidrivers, store staff, you name it. And now I am able to talk to anyone almost everywhere!
The beauty about this system is that you just have to repeat step 1, every day! You just think about something that makes you a little bit uncomfortable and you confront that fear. It can be something as little as asking someone what time it is. I used to think that was uncomfortable. And when a year has gone you will have been able to confront as many as 365 of your fears. Just think about what that will do to your self confidence!
I have been using this system for about two and a half years now and i have to admit that I am starting to run out of situations which make me uncomfortable. So now I find myself in a position where I almost have to make situation uncomfortable to be able to strengthen my self confidence.
So if you are struggeling with poor self confidence I urge you to give this a go. Yes, it will make you uncomfortable, but it will work a thousand times better than reading a book or going to some seminar. As long as you are committed to improve your self confidence.
