Changing your existing baby’s room to a toddlers’ room can be a fun idea. Plus it can save you money and energy. For example, most of the items in your baby’s room remain new by the time your baby reaches the age of a toddler. So it is a wise decision if you simply change the baby products into toddler products. Just apply some brain storming a little bit and present your toddler a new room without creating much pressure on your pocket. So follow a few steps.

  • Your child needs a bed to sleep and it is the most important item in the room. Your baby has a crib or cot. Convert that crib into her bed. Use the same things that your child was using. You need not buy new bedding, bed-sheet, pillow cover etc. The old curtains are not old enough for changing, so you need not change them. If you have to change the bed, then go to the market. Choose from different funny shapes of car, train, castle, dollhouse etc. Bob the builder, Disney princess, etc. theme beds are also available. You can use the old mattress here also.
  • Your toddler needs a dresser to keep her belongings. Do not spend money on a new one. You can convert the baby’s dresser or changing table in to a new dresser. You may change old knobs and drawer pulls and color or polish the whole thing to give it an absolute new look.
  • Unlike a baby your toddler will need a table and a chair of her size. She may also need a little book case to keep her rhyme books, story books and other personal things.
  • Color your toddlers room with bright colors or cover it with wall papers those carry picture from your child’s known world.
  • Earlier as a baby your child needed few bright objects and danglers to play with. As your child grown up she needs more. Provide her with cars, toys and dolls, and few craft objects. These craft objects will not only keep her busy, it will also help in her mental and physical development.

All children do not mature in the same age. As a mother you are the best person to judge when is the right time for changing the baby room to a toddler room.
