Chasing 300 - A Quest to Achieve Bowling Perfection
59About me
Hello and welcome to my blog.
Personal Information:
My name is Rodney and I live in Washington state. I am 37 and have been bowling since I was about 10, with a few years off from the sport in the late 1990's and early 2000's.
I have always strived for perfection in bowling and constantly work at improving my game. I am very competitive, but enjoy helping others succeed as well. The greatest feeling is knowing that I have coached bowlers into reaching their new high game or high series scores.
Personal Achievements:
As a young bowler - I have held numerous high game, high series, and high average honors in multiple league for many seasons (usually all three in the same season). My most memoriable achievements however are:
1. My doubles partner and I won the Washington Junior/Senior State Doubles Championship in 1982
2. I was a member of the All-State High School Bowling Team in 1987
3. I was a four year high school bowling team letterman and starter (lead off position my sophmore and junior years and anchor position my senior year).
As an adult - continuing to hold more high game, high series, and high average honors for the leagues I bowl in (have had 2 of the 3 in various leagues for the same season but not all 3 honors yet like I achieved when I was younger). Most memoriable so far include:
1. Winning a tourneyment at the Eagles Lodge in the summer of 1988. Qualifying 5th after a 5 game set and progressing up a step ladder match play finals.
2. High Games:
- 300 at Skyway Park Bowl in Renton, WA during a pro-am tourneyment in 1989.
- 2 more 300's at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma, WA during the 2006 - 2007 league season (the first coming in the second game on the first league night, with 22 consecutive strikes from the 3rd frame of the 1st game).
- Various other 270's and 280's games
3. High Series so far is a 796 at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma, WA
4. High final league season average is 215 at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma, WA
