Cheap Faux Wood Blinds
58Why Cheap Faux Wood Blinds Are Better Than Wood
When people hear me talking about my cheap faux wood blinds, I can't stop myself from smiling. That's because I know something that they don't: my windows look great and I've spent very little to obtain this look.
Faux wood is a term invented to replace words like plastic or PVC foam or vinyl, probably because most people were ashamed to admit they use cheap furnishings in their homes. Therefore, faux wood has nothing to do with the real wood, because it's purely artificial and made of plastic. Window blinds are only a small example of the uses of faux wood. If you look closely at your car's dashboard, you may notice that your wooden insertions have pixels. Ha, ha! You've just seen another faux wood sample. And that's happening even with cars that are expensive.
Advantages of Faux Wood Blinds
Back to our window blinds, I think faux wood is much better than real one, form several simple reasons:
1. It can be cleaned and maintained very easily, by wiping it with a damp cloth or with some window cleaner detergent, in case it gets very dirty.
2. It can be used in bathrooms without being afraid that after a short while it would crack or warp, as in real wood blinds.
2. It's cheap. Faux wood blinds cost probably a quarter of the real wood ones. Less money for almost the same looks.
