Finding a cheap flat panel monitor can be a challenge, but it is definitely doable. However, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself before you attempt to begin your search. Do you want the monitor to be new? Can it be used? Will you need a warranty? Does it have to be of high quality? Does it have to be a name brand? What size does it have to be? All of these questions can really help you narrow your search.

Some great places to look for cheap pre-owned computer gear are online auctions. These auctions can usually give you a great opportunity to browse through pre-owned gear, and can often give you the best prices if cheap is what you are going for. Sometimes, entire companies will upgrade to a different screen, leaving tons of screens for sale at online auctions for a great price. In this case, there is nothing wrong with the screens, they were just simply not needed anymore.

Cheap flat panel monitors can also be obtained through online electronics stores. Even some new models will have considerably cheap price tags. You should, however, remember that if you want it cheap, you will often be sacrificing some quality and some warranty. Sometimes, though, these things are not really needed. For example, if you just have a home computer, you log on very rarely if ever, and all you do is check email, than you are not going to need a 32 inch giant with ultra-high resolution. A simple, small, cheap flat panel monitor will suffice nicely, and can get you by fantastically!

You an also find used flat panels in the newspaper. Sometimes, there are real auctions and/or sales that you can go to where there will be a lot of computer gear that will be sold pretty cheap. Online is probably going to be your best bet though, which is fine. Even if you have to pay a little shipping, you will save enough that it won’t really matter. And you might actually be surprised at how well some cheap flat panel monitors hold up! There have been some incredibly cheap monitors that have even performed just as good as expensive ones. I think that you need a certain measure of luck when buying cheap computer gear, because if you can get lucky and acquire one that was well put together, than you can get by just as fine as you would using a high dollar monitor.
