I have two college kids of my own and I know how downhearted they are about not being able to have enough money to buy gifts for people they love - friends and family alike. They’re past the age of crafts or so they think. Of course it would be funny if they’re still giving out paper greeting cards colored with crayons.

By now they should have gathered a handful of skills to help them create projects that others would even buy. All it takes is creativity, patience and resourcefulness. Hmm…and maybe a little help from their mom. I could actually help them with ideas that will cost them time and effort but no cash out. This way they get to save their money to buy a gift for their mom - ME!

So I asked my daughters what they felt most confident about. Without batting an eye, one boasted of her computer skills. Then I asked my other daughter what craft she enjoyed doing the most during her days in high school. Her answer - scrapbooking so I suggested that they put these two together in a very neat gift.

The intended recipient of the gift was their aunt who more or less knows how to use the internet. My daughters poured a lot of loving effort into making a virtual scrapbook for their her aunt. The result really melted my heart. It was so beautiful! My sister has made it a point to tell everyone she knows about it.

Now I’m thinking with the 6.77 billion people in the world there’s got to be about a million great gift ideas out there that have never been shared. Researching is so much fun, you know I got the 6.77B figure with just a few clicks on my computer.

So my college friends don’t go whining about not having enough money or ideas about what gift to give or how to make one or where to get them frugal gifts, they’re at the tip of your fingers.
