Golf can be a very expensive sport, and with the economy heading the way it is, we could all do with knowing a few ways to find some discounts on our golf supplies.

In this article i'm going to give you some good advice on where and when to shop for cheap golf supplies. There are plenty of good places out there, you just need to know where to look. 

The best place for you to find cheap golf equipment is generally going to be the internet. The huge amount of competition online, combined with the low overheads of these retailers, works to your advantage by keeping costs low.

It is also very easy for you to compare 7 or 8 different sites in a relatively short space of time - so you are saving time and money.

When looking for new equipment I have two particular tactics i like to use for finding the cheap deals.

1. Closeout/Clearance Sections
2. Email Lists

Many of the online retailers will have a page on their site dedicated to lines of equipment they are trying to sell off quickly - normally to make room for the new model that is replacing it.

This section always has some fantastic deals on offer, and the deals will vary from store to store, so you need to check all the sites and check back regularly to find any new deals that have been placed in this section.

If you sign up to a websites email list, you will be the first to know of any new promotions or deals that the store is running. You may also find that there are offers made exclusively to the email list so it is worthwhile signing up.

What many people don't realise is that the Internet is also a fantastic place to find huge discounts on golf balls - both new and used. Most of the big online discount stores will have sections for golf balls, and there are specialist stores as well.

EBay is also a good place to look for cheap golf balls. I would always recommend that you purchase from a vendor who has an excellent track record over many hundreds and even thousands of transactions.

The used golf ball stores will normally have the balls on sale divided up into different sections according to condition. So always check what category of ball you are purchasing - is it close to new or is a little more worn. The price will vary accordingly.
