Sooner or later it happens.  You have a new place and nothing to put into it.  After sharing dorms, dives and studio slums eventually you get someplace worth showing people.  A home that is yours to do with as you like and is a true testament to how far you've come and what you've achieved.  So now that you've bought all this great space chances are your looking at furniture and lots of it.  You add up the cost and your heart drops into your stomach.  "A livingroom set cost how much???", you exclaim.  As a rule, stores charge too damn much for furniture.  Most people take out a loan and pay it off in installments seeing it as the only viable solution to furnishing a home.  I say that is not the only solution.  Bring on the cheap home furniture!!  What is cheap home furniture you ask?  It is affordable furniture that you can acquire in many ways by avoiding the big box stores and searching for sales and being creative.  If I brought you to my apartment and asked you to identify the items in it that were bought new, bought at disount outlets, or bought used you would have a difficult time figuring it out.  There is nothing wrong with buying a used items from a neighbor or site like Craigslist if it is in awesome shape.  You wouldn't buy a worn out or damaged piece of furniture from a furniture store.  Many individuals buy expensive pieces from the big box places and never touch them.  My girlfriends aunt works sixty hours a week and has rooms of expensive furniture she never even sets foot in.  It's used, but does that make it junk?  My entire place is furnished with cheap home furniture and its absolutely beautiful.

When searching for a kitchen table, I realized that they ran about three hundred dollars in the local furniture stores.  If I pay that much for one, it better come with free breakfast for the new two years.  Instead, I bought a used one from the salvation army for 30 bucks with fold down sides.  Its great quality, newly varnished and a lovely addition to my home.  What would I have benefited by buying brand new?  In today's economy, we are revaluating the ways we do business.  Things that made sense before we change because there are better or more efficient ways to get the same result.  Getting twenty five mpg out of veihicle used to be respectable but now we are aiming for thirty.  If we can find new furniture wholesale and its beautiful why wouldn't we do it?
