I was born with a nice head of thick, shiny coarse hair. Due to a recently diagnosed medical condition and prescription medication my hair has become dry and brittle. Every gal wants healthy, strong and shiny hair!!!

I spent several hundred dollars testing out the various products available on the market only to realize many of the key ingredients were already in my kitchen.

Creating my own recipes not only saves money but allows me to do treatments more often and experiment to find what works best.

For ingredients, a general rule is that if it's ok to ingest, then it's probably ok to apply to your hair.

OILY HAIR

    • 1/2 cup of real mayonnaise
    • 1 teaspoon baby oil
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 cup water

Deep Conditioner

The Ingredients

The Instructions

Comb the mayonaisse through your damp hair, then wrap your head in a towel, let it penetrate for 20 minutes. Shampoo.

Special Note: Make sure to use mayonaisse and NOT salad dressing. Salad Dressing will dry your hair out.

LIMP HAIR

Rinse your hair with baking soda to get rid of shampoo build-up and styling residues. Rinsing your hair with lemon juice is said to bring life and shine back to dull hair. Apple cider vinegar mixed with water will give your hair shine and bounce.

DRY & FRIZZY HAIR

For hair that's is dry or hair that's breaking off, olive oil is a good solution. Before washing or even wetting hair, put about 1/6 - 1/4 cup of olive oil (closer to 1/6 for shorter hair, and closer to 1/4 for longer, thicker hair) on it and work it through from the scalp to the ends. Leave it on for about 10 or 15 minutes. After that, you can shampoo and condition as usual. This works because its very oily, but not the nasty, dirty grease that builds up. It's not heavy at all, but in fact, very thin and loose. It works great for smoothing and moistening dry hair! I do it once a week and it works magnificently!
