Aside from being a top tourist destination, New York City is also a global center of business and economics. Many multinational companies, both local and foreign, have bases in NYC. Major stocks, bonds, and futures exchanges centers are also in this city. The most crucial corporate decisions that can affect the financial systems of different nations of the world are being made here.

Every day, hundreds of local and foreign businessmen fly in and out of New York for business conferences and investment deals. If you are going here for the first time, read this and learn how to find nice but cheap hotels for Business Travelers in New York City. Most offices and business convention centers are found in the Lower and Midtown Manhattan areas. Lower Manhattan is home of the Wall Street and New York Stock Exchange, and Midtown Manhattan is where the Empire State and Chrysler buildings can be found. Considering that most entrepreneurs that visit these financial districts are very powerful tycoons in their home countries, it is not surprising that most hotels built near those landmarks are meant for those who can splurge.

Cheap Hotels for Business in New York

But don't fret because there are many cheap hotels for business travelers in New York City's financial districts. If you're the backpacking entrepreneur type who really just needs a bed to sleep in for some hours, then you can book in cheap hostels in Midtown like The Jane Hotel, The Latham Hotel, and W Apartment Suites. These hotels offer rooms that are less than 100 dollars in regular days. If you really want to be near the busy streets though, you should be ready to spend 150 to 250 dollars per night for mid-range hotels, and 350 dollars to the sky's limit for all-inclusive hotels with suites.

New York City's transit systems, especially its Subway and Metro North Commuter Train, are very fast and reliable, so it is not bad if you book in more affordable hotels far from your business destination. If you plan to make your hotel reservations online, make sure that the location of the establishment you will stay in is very convenient and does not require long walks. While hotel reservations websites employ very intelligent navigation and search systems, it is still much better if you talk to a reservation agent over the phone and ask him or her all the questions that you have in relation to your business destination and your place of accommodation.
